Washington gets away with a bad faceoff and makes the Eagles stumble on a missed call

The NFL has instant replay and gets foul calls all the time.

Some things are reviewable, others are not, and picking and choosing means we end up with monstrous mistakes like Monday Night.

The Philadelphia Eagles Their fourth quarter had a right to be mad Lost 32-21 Washington generals. Washington linebacker Jamin Davis Caught the vultures tight Dallas GoedertMask and pull him down. It wasn’t just a punishment, it was blatant. But the authorities did not notice. As Goedert was pulled down by his mask, everyone could see on instant replay that he fumbled the ball. Washington is back.

This is not a judgment call. This is a mistake by the authorities.

Explain why it should not be reviewed?

That happened with just over nine minutes to go and Washington led 23-21. The Eagles selected the Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke And there was some momentum. Davis then pulled Goedert’s mask down and escaped. Instead of a 15 yard penalty and the Eagles keeping the ball, the Generals took it back. Washington didn’t move it, but got a 55-yard field goal they never should have had.

Unable to review mask fines, nothing can be done. The NFL has resisted expanding replay, but at least adding individual fouls would make sense. That would have made a big difference at a key moment on Monday night.

In a fair world, the play could have been reviewed and the correct call made. But the NFL doesn’t even have the technology to do that.
