UFC 275 Results, Highlights: Giri Proszka wins the Light Heavyweight title with the late Sub of Clover Dixiera

The story of entering the UFC 275 main event between light heavyweight champion Clover Dixiera and top challenger Jiri Prosasca is that if Prosasca wants to be the champion, he must do everything he can to stay off the ground. Prosaska not only survived on the ground after a round, but also pulled his own submission in the last 30 seconds, winning the title in the best fight of all time.

Prosaska had wonderful moments throughout the fight, showing off his brand new striking outburst that made Dexira explode. But, for all the challenging moments, Dexiera had an answer at every turn, dropping the score and knocking Prosaska to the ground.

Prozaska suffered a major cut in the left eye from a massive Dexira attack from the mountain, but every time Dexira appeared to have taken control of him, Prosaska would get out of trouble and return to his feet.

Then came the final round. As the fight seemed to be in balance, Dexiera put the fight on the ground and Prosaska seemed to be in complete control until he kicked from the cage and changed position. Shockingly, Prochazka saw Teixeira’s exposed neck and was locked in a back-naked choke, pressing everything he needed to tap in the 5th round at 4:32.

“Like I said, before the fight, I’m ready to finish it in the first or fifth round. It doesn’t matter. And no technique matters.”
