Ukrainian officials have condemned Russia’s missile attack on Kiev on Thursday night, which happened during a visit by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to the Ukrainian capital.
President Volodymyr Zelensky, in his daily video message, said, “Today, as soon as our talks are over [with Guterres] In Kiev, Russian missiles flew into the city. 5 missiles. It says a lot about Russia’s genuine attitude towards global institutions, the efforts of the Russian leadership to humiliate the UN and everything the organization represents. So an appropriate, powerful response is needed. “
“Russian missile strikes on Ukraine – Kiev, Fastiv, Odessa, Kmelnitsky and other cities – prove once again that we can not rest and think that the war is over. We must still fight and expel the occupiers,” Zhelensky said.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Schmidt said in a tweet: “During a meeting with @antonioguterres in Kiev, we heard an explosion. Russia launches missile strike on capital I firmly believe that such negative behavior of the occupier will be properly assessed by the UN Secretary General. The war in #Ukraine is an attack on world security!
