Police in the southern suburb of Flossmore were recently called to the home of Cook County State Attorney Kim Fox, who called 911 in a domestic dispute with her husband’s attorney, according to a police report that provided evidence.
At around 10:09 pm on Saturday, June 4, officers responded to Fox’s home by calling her husband, Kelly Fox, 911, and reporting a family incident involving his wife.
Kelley officials informed Kimberly that Kim Foxx was quoted in the police report as saying he was “angry about something he did on Facebook”.
Later, when Kimberly told him to leave, the officer noted that he refused. At the time, Kimberly was “recovering” and Kelly said he was prevented from leaving the bathroom, police said.
Kimberly “grabbed his collar and threw down his video game controller,” the report said. “He tried to turn on the TV. Kimberly grabbed the controller from his hand and threw it at the controller.”
When Kelly explained what had happened, the officer wrote that Kimberly was “all true.” Kelly told police that Kimberly had stabbed himself and mentioned a slap on the left cheek, according to documents. The officer used his flashlight to look at Kelly’s cheek and “did not notice any indications to support the claim that he was assaulted.” Kelly told authorities “someone needs to understand what’s going on here,” Kimberly said he was “physically aggressive” and that he wanted to stop it.
Kimberly informed police that she had her hands on Kelly’s, but that it was “only to help lead him out of the house,” the officer said. According to the report, she maintained that Kelly was not slapped. When police asked Kimberly if she felt safe in the house with Kelly, the statement said, ‘He’s not crazy.’ The husband and wife reported to police that they had been together for more than 20 years and that things had “never been”. It was physical. ”
According to the report, Kimberly said Kelly only called police to injure himself.
No one left the house following the incident.
In a joint statement, Kelly and Kim Fox said, “This is a personal family affair, and we ask for respect and privacy for our family.”
