Angels City leaders on Tuesday unanimously approved a state of homelessness emergency declared by Karen Bass in her first official act as mayor.

The announcement will allow PASS to take a more aggressive approach to combating homelessness. Council must sign off on the action every 30 days.

The Committee for Greater LA, a group of civic leaders, said it endorsed Bass’s move.
