This is a very interesting fight. Both fighters are
bigger and stronger than most middleweights. Taylor hasn't looked that
impressive in his last few outings; however, I believe that he has worked
extremely hard in training, and we will see the best Jermain Taylor has to
offer in this fight.
That being said, Pavlik has one thing that I haven't seen yet
in the recent past from Taylor. Composure. He always seems calm and confident
in the ring and following a game plan is a perfect recipe for a big win.
I think both fighters have a lot to prove in this fight.
Coming off a string of narrow victories along with a draw against Winky Wright,
Jermain needs to prove that he's the undisputed middleweight champion for a
reason. Kelly, however, has to show that he is not just hype. Many have simply
judged him based on his fight with Miranda.
Nevertheless, those who have seen a couple of Pavlik fights,
know that he comes forward non-stop for every second of the fight and this fight
will be no different. Pavlik may be "Taylor-made," however Taylor could be made
exactly for Pavlik as well.
I think the first half of the fight will be fairly close.
However, down the stretch Taylor won't be able to handle the volume of Pavlik's
punches or his power, and I expect Pavlik to drop Taylor and stop him in round
10.
