What would you say was weakest point in the first fight?
"Just train a lot harder than what I did. Mindset of
knowing you're in the best shape of your life and not just
talking it.
If you win
this fight, will there be a 3rd fight?
"I don’t care. Whoever they put in front of me
that’s who I will fight. Public demands another fight he
can’t beat me and I know that in my head. I'll do
everything.
Lou DiBella: I have some ideas and I've been looking into
some fights for him. But right now we’ll only be focusing on
Kelly.
How
different is the anticipation this fight?
"It’s revenge now, more than
anything, avenging my loss.
“it’s all about me this time, I’m not doing this for anyone else
but me. I was doing it half ass the last time...
Weight
advantage?
“He’s the bigger guy and he’s going to need every pound. I
am going back to the basics.
Trainer change?
“I can’t say anything bad about Manny Steward, just that
Ozell has been with me forever, you know. We know each
other very well. Now it's about hard work, I’m doing the
road work and waking up every morning and sparring 12 rounds...
Loss on the first fight…
“I took it for granted, and in boxing you can’t do that.
It’s about being in shape and Kelly proved that. I know
what it took to get there to the top and I didn’t do that the
last time...
“It took a but kicking to put me back on track and that’s what I
needed. It’s sad to say but it helped me and I needed
it...
“I’m not making excuses but making weight was hard. That was
part of the fight. That’s why we’re moving up to 166, and
we were planning that as it is. They’ll be no excuses
after this fight.
Is a decision win good enough?
“Winnig a decision will satisfy me. But I want it to
be a whooping, a one sided fight.”
Trainer Jack Loew’s comments
about Ozell Nelson…
“We’re not loosing sleep over the comments. It’s not
about that. He can say what he wants.”
