TELEMUNDO'S 'SPECIAL EDITION' OCTOBER 27: JOEL JULIO-COSME RIVERA CHAMPIONSHIP BOUT HEADLINES FROM MIAMI'S MICCOSUKEE RESORT AND GAMING |

Boxeo TELEMUNDO will have a “Special Edition” Championship Boxing on Friday, October 27 at the Miccosukee Resort and Gaming in Miami, Florida. In the main event welterweight prospect Joel “El Depredador” Julio of Monteria, Colombia, now fighting out of Miami, will face WBO Latin & WBA FEDECENTRO Champion Cosme “Chino” Rivera of Culiacan, Mexico in a bout schedule for 12 rounds, with Rivera’s WBO Latin & WBA FEDECENTRO Welterweight Titles at stake. Julio who is now ranked #5 by the WBA, #10 by the WBC and #11 by the WBO, brings a record of 27-1, 24 KO’s to the table and is trying to get back to the top of the division facing veteran Cosme Rivera who has a record of 30-9-2, 21 KO’s. Rivera is coming off two wins, on March 24, 2006 he won the WBA FEDECENTRO Title by stopping local hero Gil “Sugar” Reyes in 7 rounds, and on June 2, 2006, he defeated world ranked contender Felix Flores by decision in 12 rounds to take Flores' WBO Latino Welterweight title. Both fights where held at the Miccosukee Resort and Gaming and televised on Telemundo. This bout is being billed as: “The Hard Way Back to the Top.” Also WBO Latin Champion Cecilio “Boga” Santos of Mexico City, Mexico, will face former WBC International Champion Alex “Ali” Baba of Accra, Ghana in a very interesting match up for the IBA World Bantamweight Title. There will be a total of 8 exciting bouts. Doors open at 7:00 PM and first bout is at 8:00 PM.
