According to federal authorities and as reported by the
Associated Press former Olympic silver medalist Ricardo Williams has been indicted on charges
accusing him and two other men of conspiracy and possession with intent to
distribute cocaine. Williams, 23, who turned pro after earning Silver at 139 lbs. at the 2000 Sydney Games, remains a fugitive of the law, according to the authorities. Two other men, Dorian Broadnax, 26, of Cinicinnati and Marshall Martinez, 23, from California, were also indicted on the same charges according to reports. The two men were arrested last week in Cincinnati. Authorities accuse them of trying to receive a package containing five kilograms of cocaine when they were arrested. The indictment, returned Tuesday in Dayton, (Ohio), accuses the men of being involved in cocaine smuggling this month. Each charge carries a prison sentence of 10 years to life. 8-13-2004
