Edwin Valero “the
Annihilator” and now the lightweight world champion of the CMB,
due to leave to his native Venezuela on Tuesday 7 by night and
to arrive at the airport in Caracas at about 10:30 in the
morning Wednesday 8, where he will be received by the Sport
Minister of that country and by a crowd of supporters as they
did when he won his first world title of the AMB 130 lbs.
His team which
includes his coach Roberto Alcazar, his manager Jose Castillo
and his promoter Bob Arum President of Top Rank, were suppose
to go with him to this great reception, but unfortunately the
crossed of the holy week, it was impossible to get space in
the airline it transported, that is why Edwin will as always
enjoy the festivities along with his wife and his children
Edwin Jr. and Rosy
Arum, who left no
doubt about the pleasure he had to add a new champion in his
company, said he regretted not being with Edwin in Venezuela
as well as all of us but it is certain that he will managed a
fight so Edwin can defend his title for the month of July and
bring the news to Venezuela soon.
Valero for his
part said "I have being crowned World Champion of the CMB in
the 135 pounds thanks to my efforts, things were very good, I
am with the promoter and the team that I always wanted to, I
take this gold and green belt to Venezuela to enjoy it with my
people with my countrymen, I will be forever grateful to Mr
Sulaiman who gave me the opportunity to conquer a major rival
as it was
Antonio Pitalúa, again thanks to Mr. Cleto Reyes for having
gifted me the boxing gloves with which I won the title and I
tell my fans that they will have a champion for a while and
