After the media circus that was Hatton V Mayweather, Ricky Hatton, (43-1, 31 KOs) returns to the more familiar light welterweight division with a defense of his IBO title against Juan 'Hispanic Causing Panic' Lazcano, (37-4-1, 27 KOs).   Hatton won the hearts of a lot of fans over the Atlantic with his honest charm and sheer British bulldog spirit, and with a potential re-match with "Pretty Boy" Floyd on the horizon, it is important that the Mancunian gets back to winning ways quickly if he is to cement his legacy in the sport.

The bout will take place in front of a packed City of Manchester Stadium on May 24th, which is Ricky's way of saying thank you to the thousands who followed him out to Las Vegas for that fateful night against the pound for pound best fighter in the world.

There aren't many who can see Lazcano causing an upset in front of a partisan crowd which is sure to provide an electric atmosphere for Ricky's homecoming. Factor in the self confessed disappointment with his performance against Mayweather and the champ feels he has a serious point to prove. Nothing would help put the bad memories of his previous fight behind him than a solid showing this time around. There isn't much you can do about the past other than to learn from your mistakes and put them right when the time comes.

The British public can't wait to see Ricky in action again and it will be great to see him return to winning ways.

The Ricky Hatton - Juan Lazcano championship bout will take place May 24th at the City of Manchester Stadium, Manchester, Lancashire, United Kingdom. Commission: British Boxing Board of Control. Television: Versus,  SKY.
