In what should be an action-packed fight, Ricky Hatton will try and regain his IBF light welterweight title when he takes on Colombia's Juan Urango this coming January in Las Vegas.

The Manchester-based 28-year-old moved up to welterweight this year, claiming the WBA title against Luis Collazo in Boston in May.

Hatton won the IBF light welterweight title last June when he beat Kostya Tszyu and added the WBA belt to his collection when he knocked out Colombian Carlos Maussa in November. He surrendered both belts when he moved up a division.

The undefeated Hatton said he was relishing the chance to fight in Las Vegas.

"It was always one of my goals to top the bill in Las Vegas," he was quoted as saying on the BBC's web site. "The fact I am going to be fighting in the same city and topping the bill in a world title fight with my name up in lights on the Las Vegas Strip is the stuff that dreams are made of."

Urango, winner of 17 of his 18 fights, claimed the vacant IBF belt from Australia's Naoufel Ben Rabah in June.  He has been training in Savannah, Georgia, in preparation for the upcoming championship bout.
