THE PEOPLE SPEAK ON TSZYU - HATTON: AN EXCLUSIVE BRC POLL

HATTON  PRESSURE SILENCES TSZYU GUNS... by George Elsasser
From the opening bell, for better or worse, it was Hatton bringing it to Tszyu round after round in what resulted in a nasty, ugly, street fight with both gladiators asking and giving no favors - both took what was there - hitting on break, holding and hitting, low blows and rabbit punches. Did I leave out hitting after the bell? That too...

HOW WOULD HATTON HAVE DONE AGAINST OTHER PAST GREAT 140-POUNDERS?... by Jim Amato
Aaron Pryor- Hatton would have been out swarmed and out punched. Pryor by KO in a thriller.
Pernell Whitaker- "Sweet Pea " would have given Hatton a sweet boxing lesson. Whitaker by decision.

THE TORCH HAS BEEN PASSED TO RICKY HATTON... by Darren Yates
In a bout that was a lot less spectacular than I expected but nonetheless very entertaining, the result was also unexpected. Ricky Hatton, who looked extremely nervous before the bout, still pulled off the upset of the year by forcing Kostya Tszyu to quit in his corner in the 11th round, surrendering his IBF 140 pound title in the process.

HATTON AND TSZYU: A STUDY IN CONTRASTS... by Frank Maloney
The different approach of how these fighters prepare for fights and relate to the media was similar to the contrast of doing your shopping in the corner shop or driving to London's West End and browsing at Harrods.

HATTON WAS THE BETTER MAN... by Kenny Perrault
I could not have been more wrong about Ricky Hatton and his chances of upsetting Kostya Tszyu in the ring. I had Hatton pinned as a local hero who fought stiffs and past their prime fighters in front of large hometown crowds. How wrong I was! Ricky Hatton proved  he belongs with the elite fighters in his division after his impressive win over Kostya Tszyu.

HATTON'S PERFORMANCE WAS AS DEVASTATING AS IT WAS INSPIRATIONAL... by Elisa Harrison
I must confess that I am a sucker for inspirational stories, and tonight's match up of Kostya Tszyu vs Ricky Hatton should serve as required viewing for up and coming fighters all over the world. Who would have ever thought we'd see Kostya Tszyu battered, befuddled, and forced to quit in his corner? I'd dare say that not even Ricky Hatton's most devoted fans envisioned such a scenario.

HATTON TOO MUCH FOR TSZYU!... Sharkie's Machine by Frank Gonzalez Jr.
Against Kostya Tszyu, Hatton fought like a man possessed. He smothered Tszyu with punches and pressure from the first bell to the last  seconds of the eleventh round. When Hatton wasn’t punching, he was wrestling  Tszyu and forcing him to spend every ounce of energy in his 35-year old body  and never gave Tszyu a chance to get his offense in gear.

HATTON WEARS TSZYU OUT IN FINEST PERFORMANCE OF HIS CAREER... Newsflash/Chris Robinson
Just moments ago at the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester, England Ricky Hatton fought the fight of his life and scored the biggest win of his career when Kostya Tszyu refused to come out for the 12th and final round.

The 'Hitman' Ricky Hatton puts his perfect 38-0 record on the line to take on one of the best light welterweights of this generation, the heavy hitting Kostya Tszyu... Can Tszyu deliver again as he so often has in the past while many so-called experts doubt his ability?

JUNGLE HIERARCHY, HATTON TACKLING HEAD LION IN TSZYU... by Xavier 'El Mago' Cepeda
This Saturday, Showtime brings us a fight in the jungle of the talent saturated Jr. Welterweight division.  It is sure to be a battle of wills, showcasing the skills of Ricky ‘the Hitman’ Hatton versus 140 lbs kingpin Kostya ‘The Thunder from Down Under’ Tszyu.  Tszyu, being the unified champion, will put his IBF title on the line to face the young lion in Ricky Hatton in front of his home crowd in Manchester England.

THE QUESTIONS LIE WITH HATTON... by Chris Robinson
To say this match up perks my interest is an understatement, as Hatton brings more than enough raw energy and passion to make this a dangerous at-bat for the Russian born Tszyu.

BREAKING DOWN TSZYU vs HATTON... by Oleg Bershadsky
If the fight is not stopped on cuts in the later rounds then look for a TKO stoppage as Tszyu imposes his power on the weary Hatton. In the end, on the Saturday of June 4th, regardless of who wins this fight, I predict that we the fans will be the real winners.

TSZYU HAS TO BE COMPLETELY RESPECTED... by Stephen Jones
The educated man would always go with Tszyu , and the gambling man with Hatton.. I am  a mix of both and sit firmly on the fence leaning slightly towards...

MY FINAL THOUGHTS ON TSZYU-HATTON... by Darren Yates
It is now less than a week before the most potentially explosive match up of the year takes place in Manchester England between the ruler of the 140 division, Kostya Tszyu, and the undefeated and very worthy IBF number one contender Ricky Hatton.

RICHARD 'THE HITMAN' HATTON: READY TO TAKE ON THE CREAM OF THE CROP... by Tom Dickey
After possible fights with Sharmba Mitchell, Vivian Harris, and Miguel Cotto fell through, Hatton landed the biggest one of them all getting Tszyu, and getting him in his hometown. The undefeated phenom will be taking a huge step up on the 4th. Hatton talked with the press on Monday about his upcoming huge fight, and here's a little of what he had to
say...

HATTON: THE 15 ROUND BODY-BELT SESSION... by James Moore
Last Friday, May 27th, Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton had once again completed his infamously grueling, and classically "old school", 15 round body belt.  It was the concluding piece of his training jigsaw, and the customary preparation for his upcoming super-fight with the legendary 140 lb king, Kostya Tszyu.

TSZYU - HATTON SHAPES UP AS A THRILLER... by George Elsasser
When talking styles making fights, what one has in mind is typically this type of pairing - Tszyu the more disciplined in style, with a power right hand waiting to be  unleashed; Hatton the Manchester, England "Hitman" with a Brit version of body snatcher.

RICKY HATTON IS THE LOGICAL CHOICE FOR TSZYU... by Darren Yates
Ricky Hatton has kept his dream of a bout with the kingpin of the 140 pound class Kostya Tszyu by becoming the first man in 14 years to stop Ray Oliveira.

I PICK THE WINNER... by Kenny Perrault
Kostya Tszyu, 35,  is not exactly a young man anymore and you never know when father time is going to rear his ugly head in and have an effect on a fighter's skills. Tszyu will be fighting in Hatton's backyard which could have an effect on the fight. What Hatton brings into the ring is youth, power, and a great body attack. As for Tszyu,  he brings in experience, power, and confidence.

AN UPDATE OF TSZYU-HATTON... by Darren Yates
Tszyu could also grow old overnight, I do believe this is what Frank Warren and the best of the British boxing analysts are hoping and praying for this time round. Depending on whom you talk to this is either a possibility or a probability.

"I've got an idea what Kostya Tszyu is going to do, he's going to try and use that big right hand to his advantage, particularly with me coming in at him," said Hatton. "His best chance is to try and finish me early because I get faster and stronger as a fight progresses.
