TRINIDAD-MAYORGA A WEEK LATER... by George Elsasser
As it stands, the Mayorga fight clearly showed Trinidad can maintain a rapid paced affair … never once over non-stop action was he seen taking so much as a deep breath. On that score he is anything but slowed with age - and noticeably became sharper round after round.

HBO PPV NUMBERS FOR TRINIDAD-MAYORGA HAVE GONE THROUGH THE ROOF
HBO revised its numbers to 470,000 PPV buys and over $23 million in revenue. The fight held at New York City's Madison Square Garden marked the return of Puerto Rican icon Felix 'Tito' Trinidad after a self-imposed two year hiatus. Trinidad decimated Mayorga on his way to an 8th round TKO victory.

TRINIDAD vs MAYORGA: JUST WHAT THE FIGHT DOCTOR ORDERED... by Aladin Freeman
Saturday night’s match-up between Felix Trinidad and Ricardo Mayorga was what fight fans needed to get after two weeks in which Oscar de la Hoya got stopped by a “body shot” from Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones Jr. got “old” and beaten up by Glen Johnson in a one sided decision.

TITO TRINIDAD EXORCISES HIS DEMONS WITH A BRUTAL BEATDOWN OF RICARDO MAYORGA... by Elisa Harrison
"It's one thing to call out the devil, another to see him coming...."
Felix 'Tito' Trinidad once uttered the above cited colloquial expression in reference to the ire stirred in his soul by Bernard Hopkins' disrespect of the Puerto Rican flag and of Tito himself. As we all know, Tito couldn't collect his dues from Hopkins, but two years later he found himself challenged again, this time by Ricardo Mayorga, who called out the devil in Trinidad many times over in the weeks preceding their much anticipated bout. On Saturday, October 2, 2004, the devil showed up, in rare form, and handed Ricardo Mayorga the beatdown of a lifetime.

THE RETURN OF FELIX TRINIDAD... Sharkie's Machine by Frank Gonzalez Jr.
Felix “Tito” Trinidad returned to the ring after being away for over two years. He could have taken the safe route, common for most fighters coming back from long layoffs or retirement. Instead, he chose one of the toughest men in boxing—the vicious, big punching, stone chinned, Ricardo Mayorga.

RICARDO MAYORGA ANNOUNCES HIS RETIREMENT FOLLOWING DEVASTATING LOSS TO TITO TRINIDAD
"I'm not going to continue boxing. I am retiring. I have thought about it and discussed it with my family, so it's serious."

YATES' MEMO ON TRINIDAD-MAYORGA... by Darren Yates, from Down Under
For a man who has been retired for two years, Saturday's performance is as brilliant as it gets! For a guy who is built a little awkwardly and does not have great natural balance, Felix Trinidad never fails to amaze me with the consistent results he achieves in the ring.

TRINIDAD: 'I CAME BACK AND WILL BE BACK AGAIN'... by Danny Serratelli, ringside
Tito Trinidad came back last night in a candidate for Fight of the Year.  Ricardo Mayorga lived up to his end of the bargain, but in the end the relentless and very accurate (63% connect percentage) would prove too much for the proud warrior from Nicaragua.

IT DOESN'T GET MUCH BETTER... by Jeff Mayweather
The fight started out at a blistering pace, much like that of Hagler vs Hearns. Mayorga came straight at Trinidad, throwing windmill, nonstop punches, trying to plant a seed in Tito's mind that coming back and fighting him was the biggest mistake of his life.  Unfortunately for Mayorga his macho act lit Tito's fire..

BOXING PEOPLE SPEAK ON TRINIDAD-MAYORGA: A FINAL LOOK AT BRC'S EXCLUSIVE POLL... by Elisa Harrison
Two of the sport's leading men have met the mat in the span of one week...Oscar de la Hoya met a Bernard Hopkins liver shot he couldn't recover from and Roy Jones Jr. was thoroughly wrecked by IBF Light Heavyweight champion Glen Johnson.  Should these developments be source of concern for Tito Trinidad and/or Ricardo Mayorga?

FELIX 'TITO' TRINIDAD READY TO RETURN TO THE RING... by Tom Dickey

TRINIDAD-MAYORGA MEDIA POLL: 86% SAY IT WON'T GO TO THE JUDGES!

MAYORGA: "HEARTLESS TITO WILL GO DOWN INSIDE 5 ROUNDS..."
I would say that monetarily it would be the biggest fight of my career, and, obviously, by beating Tito I will gain much more fame that I have right now. I would say that it’s going to be a great fight and one that I’m going to be a victor in.

PAPA TRINIDAD HAS A MESSAGE FOR BERNARD HOPKINS...
I have only one message for Hopkins, and he has received it a very long time ago. Tito is now at a different level, and we are basing our work on that premise.
