MOSLEY vs FORREST

Who can believe we actually have a GOOD fight and a rematch that isn't going to cost 50 bucks to see?

Vernon Forrest defeated the then arguably P4P #1 fighter in the world and their rematch isn't even on PPV! That's the reason I'm excited about the fight. Instead of going into attributes and other intangibles that everyone already knows, I'll break it down a little easier.

I think Shane Mosley is great for boxing. He has everything and is probably the most talented boxer in the world ahead of Roy Jones. I just cannot help the fact that I still believe the second fight between these two will end up exactly the way the first one did.

Vernon Forrest is a very smart fighter, just as smart as Mosley. It is just a case of Forrest being the only man who has Mosley's number. I wish I could explain more in depth what I mean by that, but it is as simple as it sounds...Vernon Forrest has Shane Mosley's number. I see Forrest winning another lopsided decision.

AND THE UNDERCARD...

This is a great night of boxing in the Conseco Field House. The viewers at home get treated to TWO world class fights with world class fighters on HBO. No PPV! This is great!

Once again, another rematch! This is a very close match. Back In June of 2000, Eric Harding defeated Antonio Tarver by unanimous decision. At the time, Harding was seen as a fighter with no power, one who just danced around and played too much. Well, after the fight, Tarver had a broken rib and a fractured jaw. I'd say he has some pop.

Harding also gave Roy Jones the most competitive fight that Jones has had in some time. Harding wants another chance to show the world he can hang in with Roy so, I'm going to pick Harding for two reasons:
1. He is from my hometown of East Hartford, Connecticut.
2. He is a more sound boxer than Tarver. Although Tarver beat Reggie Johnson, and is now being trained by Buddy McGirt, Harding is more sound and he is still upset the way his match with RJJ went back in September of 2000. Look for Harding to win a pretty decent scrap by unanimous decision.

"TITO"

I hope the rumors about his retirement aren't true. Felix Trinidad has been one of my favorite fighters since I can remember. The way he has handled himself throughout his amazing career has been tremendous and he has become an idol of mine and many other boxing fans. If, in fact, this is true and Tito retires for good, I think we should all thank him for what he has done for our sport; fighting the best no matter where or what weight division. He is a rare fighter, a fighter who is not worried or afraid of a challenge. That is what we will miss the most.

Tidbits

Tyson is done...My God, did I call that one three years ago???

Where is Ike Quartey?? If anyone knows, please let me know.

Wlad Klitschko destroyed a tough Ray Mercer, I'd be up for him to fight Lewis next, but Chris Byrd, my main man from Flint, Michigan deserves to be next in.

Roy Jones is fighting some stiff again...You'd think he would actually take a serious fight at least once in awhile...right?

This is debatable, but Morales-Barrera, I had Morales winning 7-5 easy. This just sets up a third episode. Hopefully it will be as good as the second one. The fight just wasn't what anyone thought it would be.

Zab Judah is back this week. Omar Weiss is a tough dude. Beat Camacho Jr., should have beaten Antonio Diaz a few years back...watch out Zab.
