8 rounds - EMANUELLE N'WODO, Baltimore, MD, 21-4, 206 lbs vs EZRA
SELLERS, Washington, DC, 29-7, 206 lbs
Round
1 - Southpaw Sellers comes out with a quick right hook over N'wodo's high defense,
N'wodo pressures, N'wodo is quick. Sellers gets caught in the corner and gets hit
with a hook as he slides out; Sellers gets low and jabs to the body and gets hit
with another hook coming out - then another. Sellers comes back circling,
working his jab; N'wodo lunges in with a hard right hand and lands flush/ sellers spins
out of trouble again.
Round 2
- Sellers looks to land his left but gets caught in the corner again at times
this round. N'wodo stalks and looks for the big right hand while Sellers peppers
his jab. Sellers keeps his back to the ropes while N'wodo stalks. N'wodo is missing
plenty and eating plenty of jabs; finally a hard right lands on Sellers and N'wodo
staples him hard again on the way down. Sellers gets up and fights back on a
defensive mode. N'wodo lands another crushing right to Sellers' jaw and he goes
down hard! - Down and out as the ref doesn't even bother to finish his count.
N'WODO wins by KO 1:59, 2nd round

4 rounds - ANGELO SANTANA, Cuba - debut, 138 lbs vs KENNY KEATON, Indianapolis,
IN, 0-1, 139 lbs
Round
1 - 2 southpaws come out swinging hard and ferociously,
with Santana immediately looking the more polished. Keaton gets hammered by a straight left before running
around the ring looking desperately for shelter but Santana isn't having it.
Thirty-three
seconds into round 1 Keaton hits the canvas hard and again the ref doesn't even
bother with the count.
SANTANA wins by KO 0:33, 1st round
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10 rounds - LUIS COLLAZO, - NYC, 27-3, 150 lbs vs EDVAN DOS SANTOS BARROS,
BRAZIL/MIAMI, FL, 9-4-1, 149 lbs
Round
1 - Southpaw Collazo comes out controlling
with his jab, Barros holds plenty and
gets around nicely. Collazo's picking and pawing but does little by way
of offense.
COLLAZO
Round
2 - Collazo establishes his range and maneuvers nicely around the ring, confusing Barros with his
southpaw arsenal. Barros gets hit coming out on most exchanges; getting outworked the final :30 of the round.
He cannot keep up with
Collazo's
flurries.
COLLAZO
Round
3 - Barros lands nicely the first minute of the round, with straight shots, but
Collazo
regains control midway through with tight hooks upstairs. Barros pins
Collazo up against
the ropes in the final tirty seconds but is still outworked by
Collazo's
craftiness in picking shots and making him miss. Barros finally backs off and
Collazo lands a
flurry of punches.
COLLAZO
Round
4 - Collazo is quicker than the feisty Barros
as he sways back and forth in the center of the ring picking shots. Barros lands a nice right hand and drives
Collazo to the ropes in what may be his best round.
BARROS
Round
5 - Barros is aggressive while
Collazo makes him miss. Plenty of pivoting and
spinning by Collazo while Barros
desperately tries to find his mark.
Collazo
catches Barros much more.
COLLAZO
Round 6
- More of the same; although Barros is doing what he wants by staying close and
roughhousing Collazo - he's just simply outgunned and
out finessed by the
craftier New Yorker.
COLLAZO
Round 7
- Barros drives Collazo to the ropes again and catches him nicely as he bounces
off - to no avail/-if Collazo could HIT it'd be a different story, but he simply
cannot - at least he doesn't seem to be able to tonight with Barros/pitty patty
COLLAZO
Round 8
- Barros looks like he's beginning to slow with his offensive barrage while
Collazo does more of the same/there isn't much by way of excitement in the fight
as neither guy seems to be loading up with anything yet
Collazo lands more.
COLLAZO
Round
9 - Collazo decides to back off another inch and pepper shots from the outside
this round. Pivots, circles and twists keep Barros swinging at air. Barros falls
through the ropes at one point which wakes the crowd up with laughter and
cheers. Collazo
finishes the round with his hands down.
COLLAZO
Round 10
- Jabbing moving, sticking moving, being careful not to get too careless is
Collazo until he starts hot dogging midway through the round shaking his
shoulders with his hands down. Barros keeps coming forward at the same pace with
the same arsenal and more than likely finishing with another W in the W/L column
for Collazo.
COLLAZO
COLLAZO wins a unanimous decision,
99-91, 100-90, 100-90

12 rounds - DEMARCUS 'CHOP CHOP' CORLEY, Washington, DC, 31-7-1, 138 lbs vs DEVON ALEXANDER,
"THE GREAT," St. Louis, MO, 13-0, 138 lbs.
Round 1
- Two southpaws get ready to do battle. Devon counters nicely with an overhand left over Corley's body
shot. Corley has stiff jab and seems to be landing more frequently with
it. Alexander looks somewhat stiff going into the final minute. Corley lands a
hard left over Alexander's jab which punctuates the round
CORLEY
Round 2
- It's a battle of jabs with both guys landing their share of clean
shots. Alexander knocks Corley off balance with a left over his jab; he does it
again and seems to be settling down some, catching Corley coming in. Double left jab by Corley hits gloves; double right hook by
Corley tries to penetrate
Alexander's high hands. Alexander pins Corley on the ropes and scores head and
body shots at the bell.
ALEXANDER
Round 3
- Corley finds success in getting low and landing on Alexander's chest and
setting up clean shots to the head. Alexander tightens up and a 1-2-3 lands solid
on Corley and another straight left drives him to the ropes securing a round
that he might have been losing.
ALEXANDER
Round 4
- Corley finds a home for his body shots as he lands solid ones during the first
1:30 of the round; then another and another as Alexander backs up with uppercuts rocking
Corley. Hard shots by Alexander to the head are becoming more frequent with
less retaliation by Corley.
ALEXANDER
Round 5
- Nice hook by Corley, then another long right hand. Corley keeps getting low and
lands clean shots up the middle, more to the body by Corley. Alexander seems to be
taking the round off until he lands a solid straight left jarring Corley's head
back - but Corley still won the round.
CORLEY
Round 6
- Overhand left lands by Corley and he
controls the first thirty seconds of the round with solid
jabs. You can hear the "yelps" from Alexander as he pumps his jabs off
Corley's
gloves. Alexander pins Corley on the ropes, much of the same the second minute of the
round, but doesn't land much. Corley gets shoved down and takes a knee. He gets up
showing signs of fatigue and Alexander pours it on. Corley flurries but may have
lost the round.
ALEXANDER
Round 7 -
Quick hook by Alexander rocks Corley again. Corley backs into ropes and shells
up; he grabs and holds but continues to get hit with solid shots. Corley appears
to be exhausted. Alexander looks stronger as he bullies Corley for the first two
minutes; body shots land by Corley but have little steam on them by now.
Youth won
this round for Alexander.
ALEXANDER
Round 8 - Corley stays at
Alexander's body but Devon
doesn't seem to be slowing down. His
hands are high and compact and he continues to beat Corley to the shot. Corley is
beginning to look old, really old, as he lumbers around the ring getting hit with
straight shots. Corley lands a nice double jab but Alexander pours it on with
powerful straight 1-2's to Corley's head.
ALEXANDER
Round 9 - Another hard left comes over the top of
Corley's jab but Corley shows
his resilience and comes back jabbing. Alexander rips solid uppercuts up the
middle on Corley and continues to out hustle him. Corley is loading up now, sensing
that he's losing every minute of each round.
ALEXANDER
Round
10 - Alexander's jab is much sharper by now. His hooks are tight and
pinpointed. Corley loads up, misses and is clearly outgunned, yet, he is
demonstrating a champion's heart by making the youngster earn his keep. Three
punches land by Alexander to Corley's one. Straight shots and hooks find their
mark at the bell as Corley's camp may be considering throwing the towel in.
ALEXANDER
Round 11
- More of the same this round with Alexander out hustling, out speeding and
beating Corley to the punch with nothing by way of dominance.
ALEXANDER
Round 12
- Nice 1-2 lands by Corley seconds into the round. Alexander takes a
quick three-punch combo on his gloves. Alexander lands a low blow which costs
him a point deduction. Corley seems to have woken up this round looking busier
and sharper with his punches. Alexander loses the round but should win the fight.
CORLEY
ALEXANDER wins a unanimous decision

12 rounds - ROMAN KARMAZIN, Los Angeles, CA, 36-2-1, 151 lbs vs ALEX
BUNEMA, Atlanta, GA, 28-5-2, 153 lbs
Round 1
- Long rangy Karmazin stalks Bunema. Hard overhand right by
Karmazin sneaks past
Bunema's high left as it becomes clear from the outset that Bunema is going
to have trouble getting around Karmazin's reach.
KARMAZIN
Round
2 - Karmazin comes out with a quick double hook to
Bunema's head. Bunema
charges him to the ropes and hits all elbows; back in the center Karmazin
utilizes his reach and keeps Bunema at bay with stiff jabs. Bunema finally lands a
few lunging shots from left field but Karmazin isn't affected. A hard left hook lands
by Karmazin at the bell as he back pedals.
KARMAZIN
Round
3 - Long stiff jabs to the body set up a hard right by Karmazin. Bunema keeps
exploring the same angle, trying to break into Karmazin's reach, with no effect.
Long
overhand right by Karmazin lands; finally a long right by Bunema lands off the
ropes and Karmazin looks a little shaken before regaining his distance and
prowess. Karmazin is looking to land his overhand right over Bunema's low left
which he does at times to no effect; a hard, solid double hook lands by Karmazin
at the bell.
KARMAZIN
Round
4 - Double jab-right lands, driving Bunema backwards. Karmazin is finding a
home for his left hook as he backs up from Bunema's lunging in/the aggression from
Bunema has almost come to a stop as he's becoming content at trying to pick
shots from the outside - he's landing very little though as Karmazin already
begins to run away with the fight.
KARMAZIN
Round 5
- Strong double jab picks up where Karmazin left off. Bunema keeps
moving his head and has yet to demonstrate any sort of offensive dominance thus far.
More solid hooks land from Karmazin backing up; Karmazin is very controlling yet shows very little by way of dominating because he cannot
hurt
Bunema or put him away.
KARMAZIN
Round 6
- Unless Bunema does a better job of dissolving Karmazin's reach, I
simply cannot see the 2nd half of this fight changing. Karmazin is measuring and
sticking his jab at will on Bunema while backpedaling with double and triple
hooks/Karmazin opens up some at the bell but cannot put the hurt on
KARMAZIN
Round
7 - Bunema's corner must be baffled at his incompetence - he looks in shape and
keeps trying to make something happen but Karmazin keeps him at bay with his
extraordinary reach advantage/neither fighter changes pace and it's more of the
same by each
KARMAZIN
Round 8
- There were some boos ringing out by the large Russian contingency in
the Garden who came to cheer on Karmazin - they're restless and wanting him
to make them gather their things to go home/Bunema is tough and ain't having it/a
solid left hook to the body by Bunema lands - one of his few solid shots - and
the ref cautions him for a low blow/stick, stick, stick by Karmazin with his
long jab intermingled with the predictable double hook in retreat
KARMAZIN
Round 9
- Either by exhaustion or strategy, Bunema stands his ground and stops
the circling; he lands a solid jab on Karmazin. His lack of movement,
however, allows Karmazin to rip quick tight hooks to his body. With one minute left in
the round Bunema drives Karmazin to the ropes and lands a combination; the crowd
wakes up. Bunema lands another right but eats two. Nevertheless, this may have been Bunema's best
round and while he probably lost it on each judges' card - he is closing
the distance.
KARMAZIN
Round 10
- Bunema finally lands a crunching left hook to the head and drops
Karmazin flat on his butt. Bunema is stalking now as the tables have turned and
he puts down hard a still shaken and groggy Karmazin in his own corner with a solid
right hand to end the fight. Gotta love boxing!
BUNEMA wins by way of knockout, official time 1:24 of round 10

12 rounds - ANDREW GOLOTA, Chicago, IL 40-6-1, 237 lbs vs MIKE
MOLLO,
Chicago, IL,
19-1, 222 lbs
Round 1 -
Mollo comes out looking like an overly amped amateur throwing energy-hyped
hooks to the body. Golota stalks and halfway through the round Golota decides to
throw back stiff jabs. Mollo gets rocked by a hard right. Golota goes in for
the kill but to no avail
GOLOTA
Round
2 - Though Golota only weighed in 15 lbs heavier than Mollo - he looks much bigger.
It could be due to Mollo's low stance getting underneath Golota's high hands. Mollo looks inexperienced, with fidgety moves side to side.
A hard
right lands on Golota, driving him back and waking up the crowd; more to the body
by Mollo as Golota begins to look to the ref for assistance (for whatever
reason). A jab by Mollo lands and Golota comes back with a hard right and
another hard left that snaps Mollo's head back. Golota lands another three-punch
flurry on Mollo and puts him on queer street at the bell.
GOLOTA
Round
3 - Mollo's hands are understandably HIGHER now but he still eats hard
jabs by Golota; another right hook lands for Golota. Mollo's inexperience under the
big lights is emphasized each time his head snaps back. Golota begins to relax
and drop his hands, showing he has no respect for Mollo's power. Double jab - right
by Golota lands and though Mollo is clearly outworking Golota - it is quite clear
that Golota's size and strength wins the day at least on my card.
GOLOTA
Round
4 - Mollo shuffles around the ring searching for answers around Golota's
power; solid right uppercut lands by Golota until Mollo lands his BEST punch of
the fight with a hard overhand right which may have stunned Golota. Mollo lands a
few more hard shots within the next twenty seconds and some of us are seeing echoes of
Golota's inability to finish a fight that he can easily dominate. Mollo finally
makes his mark this round.
MOLLO
Round
5 - Mollo gained some confidence last round as he seems to be taking more chances
with his jab now. Golota still lands hard with stiff straight shots. Mollo still
digs to the body but is eating plenty of tight hooks by Golota. Round ends with
a hard overhand
right landing by Golota.
GOLOTA
Round
6 - There is swelling on Golota's eye now as his corner applies the steel. Mollo is
low and using different angles as he rips a quick combination on Golota, who
drops his hands and gets fancy while Mollo continues his body attack. There's not
much by way of skill from either fighter this round with plenty of holding and
falling into the ropes; a long right - left lands for Mollo while Golota trades the
same at the bell.
GOLOTA
Round
7 - Golota is looking tired now but is still landing hard to Mollo's
head. Mollo is ferocious with his punches though and he keeps tying up Golota
and hooking him on the way out. Golota lands hard at the bell and Mollo comes
back the same way with wide hooks.
MOLLO
Round
8 - Mollo is wise by now, keeping his hands high, though he still eats Golota's
hard head shots. Golota wakes up the crowd as he hammers a tired and lumbering
Mollo into the corner. Mollo is clearly fatigued. Golota uses the old "laying on
the back" trick as Mollo struggles to make it through the round narrowly
escaping a late flurry by Golota.
GOLOTA
Round
9 - Mollo drives Golota to the corner but has too little left in the tank to do
damage. A wide hook lands by Mollo, Golota hammers the youngster's sides and it
becomes a battle
of endurance at this point as Golota keeps on with his arm punches and Mollo
tries to hang on. Newman steps in to break them up before Golota almost closes the
show seconds before the bell. Mollo is dazed and walks to the wrong corner.
GOLOTA
Round
10 - Golota's left eye is swollen shut but I still have him way
ahead. Mollo is cautioned again for holding. Golota rocks Mollo's head back with a
hard jab; more punishment by Golota with hard hooks. Mollo is game but his
arsenal is weak at this point.
GOLOTA
Round
11 - Golota cannot see at all out of his left eye as the crowd oohs and
ahhhs from the big screen between rounds. The fight is sloppy now with plenty of
clinching and falling to the ropes and very little in between/a hard right
uppercut by Golota lands and Mollo shoves him to the ropes/Mollo may be winning
the round out of sheer hustle until Golota lands a hard right
which nearly decapitates him yet again. Mollo survives the round by clinging on
to Golota's knees in order to stay up.
GOLOTA
Round
12 - Golota tries to find enough distance to land solid on an ever
clinging Mollo, who looks to hold and survive. Time and time again in this round
Mollo reaches to support himself up by grabbing Golota's waist. (Arms, grab his
arms, kid!) - Golota moves in hard to close the show in the last thirty
seconds and the crowd erupts! A hard left hook by Mollo at the bell brings the
crowd to its feet as the bell signals the end of the bout.
GOLOTA
(Lopsided - yet pretty
good fight!)
GOLOTA wins a unanimous decision
116-110, 116-112, 118-109.
