The month of May began with one of the most devastating KO's in the history of PPV boxing.  Although the local coroner wasn't notified beforehand that either one of these warriors may be paying him a visit - perhaps someone should have given him a heads up.  RICKY HATTON may be better off staying on his side of the pond for a bit.

So be it.  

MANNY PACQUIAO is now the undeniable king of the ring and we're all licking our chops for FLOYD MAYWEATHER, Jr.  to step to the plate.  With JUAN MANUEL MARQUEZ  standing in Floyd's way - anything can happen.

In the meantime here are some fights to lick our chops to in the month of May:

5/8 - ISHE SMITH (20-3, 9 KOs) will be re-emerging in Vegas after nearly a year away vs BRIAN MIHTAR (10-1, 9 KOs).
 
5/8 - BRIAN VERA (16-2, 10 KOs) of Contender fame will be coming back to Fort Worth, Texas, to take on a highly touted Brit named CRAIG McEWAN (14-0, 10 KOs).
 
5/9 - "BAD" CHAD DAWSON (27-0, 17 KOs) will square up (yet again) against ANTONIO TARVER (27-5, 19 KOs). This one for the IBF light heavyweight championship. Is it just me - but aren't y'all ready for Tarver to just .... go away??
 
5/9 - How about this: HECTOR CAMACHO *Senior* (79-5-2 39 KOs) and evidently fresh out of a Gulfport, MS. jail is scheduled to fight YORI BOY CAMPAS (92-14,  79 KOs)  in Atlantic City, New Jersey.  Hey, anything can happen!  Other fights on the same card are ORLANDO LORA (24-0  18 KOs) vs BEN TACKIE (29-11  17 KOs), PATRICK PEREZ (25-5  14 KOs)  vs CARL DANIELS (50-16  32 KOs). - This one is PPV, folks, really, it is!
 
5/15 - Old schooler DARLING JIMENEZ (23-3-2, 15 KOs)  takes on ROBERTO ACEVEDO (9-4-3  1 KOs)  in Yonkers, NY.

5/15 - Cuban Olympic Gold Medalist YAN BARTHELEMY returns on May 15th at the Mahi Shrine Coliseum in Miami, Florida. Barthelemy (7-1) will take on veteran ANGEL PRIOLO (30-7, 20 KOs) for the WBC Latino bantamweight title. In the co-feature, undefeated TONY ROMAN (10-0) will face undefeated KENDALL  MENA (13-0) for the WBO Latino welterweight title.
 
5/15 - JOSELITO COLLADO (7-0  2 KOs)  is looking for an "opponent" to fight in Philly. You may not know COLLADO now, but you will soon.
 
5/15 - MONTE BARRETT (34-7  20 KOs)  takes on another undefeated fighter (with a little less to offer by way of power than David Haye) in KEVIN JOHNSON (21-0  8 KOs)  in Atlantic City, NJ.
 
5/15 - The best fighter you never heard of, GRADY BREWER (24-11, 13 KOs)  battles REGGIE NASH (9-21  2 KOs),  in where else? Oklahoma.
 
5/16 - In OAKLAND, ANDRE WARD (18-0  12 KOs)  takes on EDISON MIRANDA (32-3  28 KOs).  Now we're talking!  Also, on the same card they're trying to find RICARDO WILLIAMS Jr. (15-2  8 KOs)  an opponent.  Nice!
 
5/22 - In Vegas, the one-punch-wonder OLIVER McCALL (51-9  36 KOs)  turns it up with JOHN HOPOATE (11-2  11 KOs). 
 
5/22 - Does anyone remember JOEY SPINA (24-1  17 KOs , the undefeated "prospect" that Peter Manfredo almost decapitated in the 3rd round a few years ago?  Me neither.  Well anyway, he's fighting TIWON TAYLOR (26-14  19 KOs).  On the same card is JAMES McGIRT Jr., (19-2-1 9 KOs)  - a fighter who was on cruise-control with an undefeated record until he started fighting people with a heartbeat.  In his last 4 fights he's only won once.
 
5/22 - RICHARD GUTIERREZ (24-2-1, 14 KOs)  vs ANTWONE SMITH (15-1  8 KOs)  on ESPN 2.  Now we're talking again!  This should be a good one. Also, ODLANIER SOLIS vs FRES OQUENDO.
 
5/28 - In Houston they are trying to find a fight for DAT NGUYEN (14-1 6 KOs).  Talk about a diamond in the rough.
 
5/29 - In Chicago, JAIME SANDOVAL (15-3-1, 12 KOs)  vs JUAN CARLOS MARTINEZ (15-10,  7 KOs). 
 
5/30 - Hollywood, Florida is hosting perhaps the Card of the Month...  ANDRE BERTO (24-0  19 KOs)  vs JUAN URANGO (21-1  16 KOs),  ALFREDO ANGULO (15-0  12 KOs)  vs KERMIT CINTRON (30-2, 27 KOs), YUSAF MACK (27-2  16 KOs  vs DeANDREY ABRON (15-4, 10 KOs), TOR HAMER (5-0  4 KOs),   (another "you don't know him yet - but you will fighter") vs TBA.
