THE JAB

Boxing is the oldest sport known to man. In libraries across the world, ancient records are sure to exist supporting the notion that our pre-historic forefathers - somewhere - "fought" one another for food. In the days of old, usually the BIGGEST and strongest man prevailed. POWER ruled. In accordance, also at the initial outset of competitive Boxing - POWER - was King.

But ah .... then somebody learned the JAB.

The boxer's jab has evolved through the years into a polished tool for sizing up an opponent in order to prime them for the big POWER punch. In today's game, a few fighters can come close to WINNING a fight by their jab alone.

For all beginners out there: *Practice your jab relentlessly. Learn to throw your jab effortlessly and practice PATIENCE while your Boxing Trainer sets the mold through intense repetition. Learn the Jab from a variety of angles, with various speeds and force.  Be "spontaneous," not predictable with the jab.  And remember, one of the BEST ways to sneak a power shot inside your opponents defense is to "overly" concern them with having to avoid your JAB!
