Michael Jennings/England/34-1(16)
vs
Miguel Cotto/PR/32-1(26)
-England vs Puerto Rico, here's one you don't see too often. The pro-Puerto
Rican crowd in the Garden almost totally drowned away the English soccer
medleys so often heard at English events.
-Jennings is quick. Miguel stalks. Though Cotto didn't do much in the 1st
round he seems to be breathing a bit heavy in the corner afterwards.
-Cotto begins to find the range with his jab on the ever-moving Jennings in
the 2nd. :10 left in round 2 Cotto traps Jennings on the ropes and digs rib
shots.
-Cotto has trouble getting close to Jennings early in the 3rd and misses
plenty. Jennings hasn't slowed Cotto's aggression down any up to this point.
Cotto gets closer, lands more in 3rd round. A hard stiff straight left snaps
Jennings head back to close round 3, Cotto's best round yet. Jennings is
falling about 3 inches short with his right hands. Left hook lands by Cotto
that rocks Jennings - he stumbles to a corner and goes down. :37 seconds
left and he's reeling. He stumbles to another corner and goes down again,
:13 and Cotto pummels him. Saved by the bell.
-Round 5 and Jennings legs look shaky. He doesn't move as swiftly. Jennings
doesn't "slip" punches, he knocks them all down or moves away. Jennings
lands a hard right on Cotto. Cotto persists. :33 Jennings is down again in
a corner he reeled to from another barrage and this time he doesn't beat the
count.
