FAST EDDIE CHAMBERS NEXT IN LINE FOR KLITSCHKO'S WBO BELT

It's been no secret for most of my readers over the past few years that I am a big fan of "Fast" EDDIE CHAMBERS.  His laid back-quick reflex style is polar opposite from the hurried "busy"ness that I employed in my 100+ amateur wars and a far cry from the fighters I'm usually drawn towards.  Nonetheless, CHAMBERS has this particular distinction in his fight game earmarked and mastered.

CHAMBERS almost looks lazy in his approach to establishing ring generalship over his opponents.

"Lazy" is just a ploy he uses to sucker opponents in order to unveil his "Fast" namesake on their ribs and forehead.  To date he's conquered 35 challengers in this manner.

In January of '08 CHAMBERS was 30-0 when he traveled to Berlin, Germany to take on ALEXANDER POVETKIN in an IBF Heavyweight Title Eliminator bout.  At the time, POVETKIN was also undefeated at 14-0 and had a laundry list of 13 KO's which only LARRY DONALD had escaped.  Donald btw was PUNISHED in every round of their 10 round fight losing ALL 10 rounds to EACH judge - he just happened to survive being KO'd.

In the fight vs POVETKIN, CHAMBERS did significant damage to his opponent's face.  Although CHAMBERS won a few close rounds, on this particular night POVETKINS relentless, domineering flurries sent a clear message to the judges as to who the winner should be.  POVETKIN won a UD.

FAST EDDIE has conquered 5 opponents since his humiliating defeat in Germany to POVETKIN and last night on our country's birthday, CHAMBERS made the USA proud by securing his most impressive victory to date by traveling BACK to Germany to batter undefeated ALEXANDER DIMITRENKO.

This fight was a WBO Title Eliminator bout.

USA Boxing fans know that some of  most atrocious decisions have come when our native sons travel across the pond and expect to get the nod from their judges.  Last night nearly fell into this category as one judge (PAUL THOMAS) scored the beat-down EVEN (?).  Fortunately the other two judges saw the same fight and had CHAMBERS securing the victory with relative ease.

Looking forward to his showdown with WBO Champ WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO.
