SULTAN IBRAGIMOV DEFEATS HOLYFIELD BY WAY OF UNANIMOUS DECISION...

In a one-sided affair, Sultan gets the unanimous nod, 118-110, 117-111 twice, and remains the WBO heavyweight champion of the world.

Congratulations are in order for Team Ibragimov, but in particular to chief trainer Jeff Mayweather and Sultan Ibragimov himself who executed the Mayweather plan well.

As for Holyfield, retirement seems to be the way to go. He was sluggish and slow in this fight, and he should quit before he gets really hurt in the ring. Nevertheless, Holyfield clamors for a rematch, and claims he is not going to retire yet.

Moscow traffic makes the LA Freeway at rush hour look like the Indy 500.  There are between 10-12 million Muscovites—and 4 million cars.  Drivers park everywhere and anywhere, including on the sidewalk.  One individual parked in the right lane of a three-lane highway. . . . Amazingly enough horn blowing is rarely heard . . .

A CONVERSATION WITH EVANDER HOLYFIELD

What about Ibragimov?

He’s quick.  What he brings to the game, he is probably going to throw more punches than any of the heavyweights that I fought.  The difference between he and Michael Moorer, is Moorer is going to throw three punches.  When I see this guy, he throws four or five punches.  He does awkward stuff that I’ve never seen a heavyweight fighter do.
