FELIX STURM TEAM ALLEGES JERMAIN TAYLOR'S CLAIM TO WBA BELT IS ILLEGITIMATE...
The World Boxing Association will no longer list Jermain Taylor as middleweight champion. According to WBA officials Taylor hasn’t been stripped of the title, but  he has been removed from the rankings until an investigation requested by Felix Sturm is completed.
Jermain Taylor will fight Winky Wright in Memphis on June 17.

 


 

WBA MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION STURM WANTS TO FIGHT THE BEST...
"Of course we are proud of his victory and we are already looking forward to the next Sturm [German for “storm”] in the ring," Universum CEO Klaus-Peter Kohl predicted. "However, we won’t make rash selections of his next opponent. We will consider all options and then select the pairing which is most attractive for the boxers and for the crowd.”

Felix Sturm won't go away. In fact, he just regained championship status following an impressive, unanimous decision win over now former champion Maselino Masoe in front of 7,000 fans at the Color Line Arena in Hamburg. Felix Sturm continues to push on and Jermain Taylor and possibly Winky Wright are going to have to deal with him eventually if they intend to claim undisputed eminence in the middleweight division.

"I'm proud and happy about my new world title", Sturm said after the fight. "Masoe was as strong as I expected him to be. My fights against him and Oscar de la Hoya were the hardest of my career. STURM AND MASOE CLASH ON SATURDAY, MARCH 11, IN HAMBURG
The big world middleweight title fight between puncher Maselino Masoe and technician Felix Sturm is almost here. The clash takes place on Saturday at the Color Line Arena in Hamburg, Germany.

Poles Matt Zegan and Volodia Lazebnik, both promoted by Don King and managed by Andrew Wasilewski, are on the undercard to Masoe vs Sturm March 11.

 


 

STURM CHALLENGES MASELINO MASOE ON MARCH 11
German middleweight contender Felix Sturm will challenge WBA world champion Maselino Masoe, 26-2 (25), on March 11 in Hamburg.
Sturm, 24-1 (11), was originally scheduled to face Masoe on November 26, but was forced to pull out due to an elbow injury. He is now completely healed and back in training according to trainer Michael Timm.
