Universum Box Promotions returns in April with two events which will take place within a week of each other. April 17 in Magdeburg, Universum joins forces with SES for a show headlined by WBC interim middleweight champ Sebastian Zbik who again will take on Italian Domenico Spada. Zbik won a very close decision the first time out to win the title but many observers felt Spada had nicked it.

In the co-feature WBO super middleweight king Robert Stieglitz will face Eduard Gutknecht, who comes in fresh off a win over ex-champ Karoly Balzsay. It's an exciting all German match-up where Stieglitz's speed and punch should make the difference. Stieglitz hails from Belorus but has been based in Magdeburg for several years.

It's not official yet but on April 24th Universum will have WBO light heavyweight champ Juergen Braehmer headlining a show at a site to be announced. According to Ring de Idea, the opponent will be Argentinian Mariano Nicolas Plotinsky.

according to the Australian paper Sun-Herald, Universum will  promote the WBA heavyweight eliminator between Ruslan Chagev and Kali Meehan. The winner will then get the winner of David Haye vs John Ruiz.

It's nothing new but for unknown reasons, Russian middleweight Dmitry Pirog dropped off the fight against EBU champ Matthew Macklin April 16 in the UK. Pirog was the mandatory challenger for Macklin.
