St. Paul, Minnesota native, Matt "The Predator" Vanda, scored the biggest victory of his career tonight beating former IBF Jr. Middleweight Champion Yori Boy Campas in a twelve round bout for Campas'  title. It was clear early on that Vanda had the speed advantage over Campas, as he threw quick combinations that kept snapping Campas' head back.

The middle rounds seemed to belong to Campas, who was the aggressor working behind a vicious body attack. As the fight went into the deeper rounds, it appeared that Campas was on his way to a decision, but Vanda came back in the championship rounds, pushing Campas back. The 12th round was the best of the night, with both men going toe to toe for most of the round.

The final bell rang and the decision was handed in. Matt Vanda was crowned the new IBA Jr. Middleweight champion via split decision with the scores of 116-112, 115-113 both for Vanda and 115-113 for Yori Boy Campas. Matt Vanda improves his record to 34-1 (21 KO's) while Yori Boy Campas falls to 86-8 (70 KO's).

Also in action former heavyweight world title challenger Michael Grant put on a lackluster performance against Marcus McGee. Grant seemed happy by doing just enough to win the rounds and cruise to an eight round unanimous decision by scores of 77-76, and 79-74 twice.

Wormer WBA Jr. Middleweight champion Santiago Samiego hit a roadblock tonight in Troy Lowry. The bout was competitive from the get go but a clash of heads opened a cut over the left eye of Lowry. On the doctors advise the bout was stopped and went to the scorecards, since the head butt was deemed accidental. All three judges saw it 59-54 Troy Lowry.
