Matt "The Predator" Vanda and IBA  Continental Americas Intercontinental champion Yori Boy Campas are set to meet on June, 24th at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. For Campas, who has fought seven former world champions in his career, this bout is about pride, and he must win it if he wants to take  another run at a world title.  Yori Boy is a former IBF Light Middleweight champion, a title he defended three times before quitting in his corner against  Fernando Vargas back in December 1998.

Campas’ résumé is one of the best in boxing. During the course of his 18 year professional career he has into the ring against the top Light Middleweights of the past ten years including Oscar de la Hoya, Felix ‘Tito’ Trinidad, Oba Carr, Daniel Santos and Raul Marquez just to name a few.

As for Matt Vanda this fight is not just a step closer to a world championship fight, it's a fight he must win if he hopes to finally earn some respect in the boxing world. For Matt Vanda this fight is truly about pride, and a win over Yori Boy Campas would be the biggest W of his career. A victory against the Mexican veteran could possibly catapult Vanda to better opportunities in the future.

Vanda always makes for an exciting fight and this bout will be no exception. He also brings one of the best fan followings into the arena every time he enters the ring.

As for the fight, I have a feeling nothing is going to be left back in training camp; both men will certainly give it their all. A loss for Campas could mean the end of his 93-fight career. A loss for Vanda   would send him back to the drawing board wondering where he will go from there.

Also on the card is former heavyweight championship challenger Michael Grant. HBO was grooming the gigantic Grant, hoping to showcase him in many of their cards. His chance finally came April 29, 2000, when he stepped in to the ring against Lennox Lewis. Grant was sent crashing to the canvas three times in the first round before finally being stopped in the second. His fortune did not improve much in his next bout; Jameel McCline stopped him in the first round. Since his fight with McCline, Grant has fought 10 times with a record of 9-1.

Also featured on the card is another favorite with the Minnesota fans, Light Heavyweight Zach Walters, along with Middleweight Troy Lowry, and Santiago Samaniego. The bouts will be shown on Direct TV PPV. Order now!
