While visiting Mainevents.com today, I came across a poster advertising a fight card that will take place in New Jersey on November 30th,  featuring 15-0 (14 KO's) Jason Litzau of St. Paul, Minnesota. I looked over the poster and saw nothing special until someone brought to my attention that the poster had Jason Litzau fighting out of Spring Lake, New Jersey. This was no error, Main Events recently signed Jason Litzau to a contract and have big plans for him.

 

       Litzau last fought on July 15th of this year against John Nolasco. The fight was going Litzau's way until he was sent to the canvas late in the fight; to Jason's credit he beat the count and battled back to win the fight on points. Getting up from a knockdown and battling back!  Does this sound like another Main Events fighter? The fighter it sounds like is Arturo Gatti. Gatti is on the decline and only has so many fights left in him. So what does Main Events need more then anything? They need another Arturo Gatti, another tough fighter who can sell out the Boardwalk Hall Arena in New Jersey. Like Litzau, Gatti is not from New Jersey, but captured the Jersey fans'  hearts with his brave fighting style.

 

       If you take another look at the fight poster you will notice that every fighter is from New Jersey. How well would Jason Litzau go over if he was the odd man out? Who will the crowd side with in a fight that features a New Jersey native against a kid from Minnesota? If you dig a little further on the Main Events web site you will see they have Jason Litzau from St. Paul, Minnesota. So I ask Main Events where did you get Spring Lake, NJ from?
