~~Matt Vanda vs Tocker Pudwill~~

On this past Saturday, April 18th, The Target Center in Minneapolis, MN hosted an entertaining night of boxing featuring Matt Vanda in the main event. Vanda squared off against veteran Tocker Pudwill in an eight round bout. The fight itself was full of both offense and defensive boxing. Pudwill controlled the early and middle rounds with his reach and counter punching. Vanda did his best to get inside, however, he would not find much success until he later rounds when Pudwill began to slow a bit. Vanda may have landed the harder shots during the bout but it was Pudwill who landed more. In the end the judges scored the bout a majority decision with the scores of 77-75 twice and 76-76 giving Vanda the decision. The win puts Matt Vanda back in the win column 40-9 (22 KO’s) while Tocker Pudwill drops to 40-7 (14 KO’s).

~~Allen Litzau loses to Wilton Hilario~~

The co-main event featured one of Minnesota’s most heated rivalries since Matt Vanda and Anthony Bonsante. Allen Litzau and Wilton Hilario fought for the IBA America’s featherweight title. These two have been exchanging words for years and finally got the chance to settle their dispute once and for all. Both men came out throwing punches with bad intentions, but it was Hilario's that had more hurt behind them. Litzau did good work on the inside; however, it wasn’t enough to slow Hilario down. Litzau looked hurt a few times early in the bout and in round five Hilario would put on the finishing touches. A number of hard hooks stunned Litzau in round five forcing referee Mark Nelson to step in and call a halt to the match. To Litzau’s credit as stunned as he was he was still throwing back at the time of stoppage. With the win, Wilton Hilario picks up the IBA America’s featherweight title and improves his record to 11-0-1 (9 KO’s) while Allen Litzau falls to 13-4 ( 7 KO’s).

~~Fort beats Kliewer~~

Middleweight Cerresso Fort scored five knockdowns over challenger Bobby Kliewer. Fort dominated the bout landing hard shots to the head and body of Kliewer. Kliewer has a very wild style in the ring and managed to land a few shots but it wasn’t nearly enough to do any damage. After being sent to the canvas for the fifth time Kliewer spit his mouth piece out and told the referee he had enough. Cerresso Fort keeps his record perfect improving to 6-0 ( 6 KO’s ) while Bobby Kliewer falls to 9-8 (4 KO’s).

~~Jason Litzau stops Phillip Payne~~

Top contender Jason Litzau made his first ring appearance in over a year since losing to Robert Guerrero for the IBF featherweight title. Litzau squared off against Phillip Payne, and he dominated from round one landing flush shots that would have sent many to the canvas. Payne showed a good beard but not much offense as he fought in survival mode. Payne managed to land a nice combination in the 5th round; however, Litzau would turn the tides landing a combination forcing referee Bobby Brunette to step in and stop the bout. Jason Litzau improves his record to 24-2 (20 KO’s ) while Phillip Payne falls to 16-23-1 (8 KO’s).

Welterweight John Laboda kept his record clean 5-0 (4 KO’s) with a stoppage over Patrick Cape 5-5 (3 KO’s). And Don Tierney started his professional career with a win over Zach Schumach.
