MORALES vs PACQUIAO: FROM RINGSIDE TO THE
COUCH... by Kenny Perrault
One week removed from sitting in the MGM Grand watching Erik Morales and Manny
Pacquiao give it their all in an epic bout I now sat on my living room couch to
once again take in the show. The first difference that jumped out was the volume
of the crowd. HBO seemed to filter the crowd's tremendous noise during the bout.
This was one of the best fight crowds I have ever heard and seen. As for the
fight it was just as exciting on TV as it was live.
ERIK MORALES ROLLS ON...
by Aladdin Freeman
I don’t know if I can think of a top 10 fighter who gets less respect
than Morales. After his first fight with Marco Antonio Barrera people have
been writing him off and why I ask? Their first fight was very close, newsflash
so were the other two fights; in fact if you watched all 36 rounds you
might have scored them 18 a piece. Anyways, never forget that a person who
is fighting for a higher purpose is a dangerous person to fight. The
Morales - Barrera rivalry is bigger than Junior Jones, Naseem Hamed,
Paulie Ayala and Manny Pacquiao. There was no way that Erik Morales
was: 1) going to let a chance to show up Barrera go for naught and 2) let
Pacquiao get a clean sweep over Mexico’s finest fighters since Julio Cesar
Chavez.
LENNY DEJESUS: WRECKING CREW'S CUTMAN EXTRAORDINAIRE! Congratulations to Lenny
DeJesus of Wrecking Crew Boxing for doing such a wonderful job of keeping
Manny Pacquiao in the fight for 7-1/2 more rounds despite what could have been
a fight ending cut caused by a head butt in the forth.
PACQUIAO-MORALES: NO REAL LOSER TONIGHT... by Kenny Perrault, ringside
Erik Morales and Manny Pacquiao treated the boxing world to a
great fight tonight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was all action from
the opening bell as both men took turns pounding on each other. As usual
Pacquiao was looking to land his left hand but Morales had his right hand
glued to his face throughout the bout blocking as much punishment as he
could. Morales tried to use his reach advantage but often found himself slugging it out with Pacquiao.
MORALES
CONQUERS PACQUIAO... Sharkie's Machine by Frank Gonzalez Jr.
Living legend and Tijuana
native, Erik “El Terrible” Morales upped his record to 48-2-0-34 KO’s on
Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, where as the underdog, he faced
dangerous rising Philippine Star, Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao (39-3-2-30 KO’s)
in a Super Featherweight match up of epic proportions. Morales was insulted
by the odds. But the odds makers were wrong.
MORALES EARNS A UNANIMOUS DECISION IN A
TOUGH FIGHT AGAINST PACQUIAO... by Oleg Bershadsky
In what will surely prove
to be a candidate for Fight of the Year, Manny Pacquiao and Erik Morales showed
why they are two of the most exciting fighters today. In this fight there were
no breaks in action or dull rounds, there was only the straight-forward
collision course that made for an action packed fight.

MORALES-PACQUIAO: ANOTHER WAR... by Jeff Mayweather
Saturday night at the MGM Grand there will be a
clash between two of the best Jr. Lightweights in the world, both former
Champions, who will put it all on the line in a fight that is guaranteed to
provide plenty sparks. Erik Morales coming off a rough, tough loss to Marco
Antonio Barrera and Manny Pacquiao coming off a very impressive stoppage of
Barrera certainly sets up an all out brawl.
CASTILLO-MOREL: ANOTHER TREAT OF THE PACQUIAO-MORALES CARD... by Tom Dickey
If for some reason Boxing fans needed another
reason to watch the Erik Morales-Manny Pacquiao fight,
then Martin Castillo and Eric Morel may provide that
incentive. Two of the better small guys in the world
step in the ring on the Pacquiao-Morales undercard.
The veteran vs the phenom, the boxer vs the puncher,
champion vs champion. Eric Morel is the former WBA flyweight champion, a strap he defended five
times. He now moves up and looks to grab a title at 115 pounds, but in his way stands a young bull named
Martin Castillo.
PACQUIAO v. MORALES, COULD BE FIGHT OF THE
YEAR CANDIDATE...
by Xavier Cepeda
This Saturday, March 19, fight fans are in for what is going
to be the beginning of an exciting year in boxing. Erik ‘el Terrible’ Morales
faces Manny ‘Pac Man’ Pacquiao in what many believe could be a fight of the year
candidate. The two are known for participating in explosive fights, both
having faced Champion Marco Antonio Barrera. Pre-fight reviews and analysis are
comprised of mixed opinions. The majority of opinions seem to be leaning in favor
of Pac-Man. There are a few that believe the bigger and rangy Morales will have
the advantage. This leaves an even smaller few that have succumbed to calling
this one a pick ‘em fight. As a writer, that is a bit too safe for my blood.
LITTLE BIG MEN, THE FIGHTERS OF MARCH 19TH... by Kenny Perrault
The heavyweight division has long dominated the sport of boxing. It generates
more money and puts more butts in seats. With the popularity of heavyweights
it's the smaller fighters who have long been overlooked by the public. Ask
the average sports fan and chances are he can probably tell you one of today's
three heavyweight champions, ask the same man to name a featherweight champion
and you may not get an answer at all. I'm not saying the smaller men go
completely unnoticed but they do not get the same recognition. On March 19th two
of the world's best fighters will meet in Las Vegas, Nevada. These
two men are Manny Pacquiao and Erik Morales, and they are two of boxing's little
big men.

HOW TOUGH A CALL IS MORALES-PACQUIAO: LISSEN UP! ... by George
ELsasser
Neither have shown a hint of the sweet science of stick and move, nor hit and
not be hit in style. The Pacquiao method is as basic as it gets … the opening
bell is a cannon that fires him directly at the target in the other corner.
Results have been fine as wine as indicated by the young port side banger with
some 30 odd KO’s on the resumé.
PACQUIAO-MORALES: DON'T BLINK...by Tom Dickey
When the announcement was made that Manny Pacquiao and Erik
Morales were going to get it on, most fight fans began to drool. It should be no
surprise that these two warriors are going to meet, because they have a
reputation for fighting anyone. Either fighter could have taken a safer fight,
and not been criticized for it. Pacquiao could have taken an easy fight, and
waited around for a much anticipated rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez, instead of jumping in the ring with a
guy as tough as Morales. Morales, coming off an epic November loss to Marco
Antonio Barrera, would have been justified to take an easier fight, and
maybe tried to win a title. Instead, he chosen the guy who destroyed the guy
that Morales just lost to.
MORALES-PACQUIAO: THE FANS WIN
REGARDLESS... by Aladdin Freeman
Trying to pick a winner in the upcoming fight between Erik Morales
and Manny Pacquiao isn’t easy and it should be a great fight, so the fans
will win no matter how the chips fall. Personally I’m going with Erik
Morales and for a
couple reasons.
THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM... Sharkie's Machine by
Frank Gonzalez Jr.
Trying to handicap this fight is bizarre because it’s a strange
confrontation of styles... Morales and Pacquiao are warriors. Both feed on a pretty steady diet of the
best competition. Both represent everything fight fans respect in a
prizefighter, heart, skill and a fight anybody, warrior mentality.
MORALES-PACQUIAO ONE TOUGH CALL... by George
Elsasser
A lasting image from the Marquez fight that ended in a draw, was seeing the
Mexican champion waging battle with a nose that was broken as early as stanza
two - and Pacquiao showing his mettle while overcoming an early round cut to the
right eyelid.
A BRIEF LOOK AT MANNY PACQUIAO'S CAREER... by Kenny Perrault
Manny went on to defend his title four times before meeting the toughest
opponent of his career, featherweight champion Marco Antonio Barrera.
The night couldn’t have gone better for Pacquiao, who dropped Barrera in the
third and eleventh rounds. Barrera’s corner had seen enough, they had the
fight stopped in the eleventh round. Manny Pacquiao was now the man at the
featherweight division and at the top of most Pound 4 Pound lists.
I'D PUT MY MONEY ON PACQUIAO... by Kenny
Perrault
Each fighter has advantages and disadvantages coming
into the fight; Pacquiao brings in the bigger punch while Morales works the
body as well as anyone in the sport today. Morales has more
experience in big fights while Pacquiao is steadily building up his
pugilistic resumé. It’s hard to pick a
winner in this fight, but if I had to, I’d put my money on Pacquiao and watch
nervously throughout the bout.
MORALES vs PACQUIAO: CAN IT BE WORTH THE
HYPE?... by Jocelyn Saurini
It’s the buzz in Vegas.
The ticket that everybody needs to get, and not just because it promises to
be an amazing fight. People all over are already clamoring to get into the
Morales vs. Pacquiao fight at the MGM Grand on March 19th because it
promises to be some top-ranked entertainment. It’s the place to be, the
fight to see and, if things go according to all predictions, probably the
most exciting 12-rounds of action in 2005.
