Donaire, (14-1, 8 KOs), from General
Santos City in The Philippines, is riding a
five-year, 13-bout winning streak, with his most
impressive wins coming in his last two bouts, a
unanimous decision victory over former IBO champion Ilidio
Julio, (33-6-1, 29 KOs), and an exciting
split-decision win over Kahren Harutyuyan,
(13-2-3), for the vacant NABF title. Donaire is
currently world-rated No. 12 by the World
Boxing Council and the World Boxing Organization and
No. 13 by the International Boxing Federation.
Soto,
(20-7-1,
15 KOs), from Guasave, Sinaloa, Mexico, who is
riding a four-bout winning streak (three of those
victories by knockout), has won five of his last six
bouts. He returns to the ring fresh from a
fifth-round knockout of Branni Guerrero where
he captured the vacant WBC Fedecentro title.
