by George Elsasser Yes, Mosley was once a dominant special one at lightweight, jr. welter, and quality entity at welter, until them Vernon Forrest double debits - and there was them losses to Winky at jr. middle and today at age 34 we are to believe the guy is still PPV material? I think not. Vargas you say? Good old fraudulent Fernando of self-branded Mexican warrior fame? Yeah, right. Tell that one to Tito Trinidad and Golden Boy Hoya … and coming into this latest spanking Mosley had already attached Fernando lifer, as in "three time loser" infamy.
FERNANDO VARGAS: "LET'S GET READY TO CRUMBLE"... by Mike Casile/PBRVargas came into the fight believing he saw something in the last fight, something he could capitalize on. What he didn’t see, was a left hook thrown beautifully by Mosley, in the 6th round of a fight which Mosley easily controlled. This fight wrapped up Vargas’s career in one fleeting punch. It was a microcosm of all his losses wrapped into one solid shot, that he never saw coming. MOSLEY vs VARGAS: EXPECTATIONS ARE HIGH THIS TIME... by Tom Dickey Earlier this year when former champions 'Sugar Shane Mosley and Fernando 'El Feroz' Vargas met in the ring, it was supposed to be a battle of two worn down ex-champions who were said to have changed their styles.
FERNANDO VARGAS: 'THE CURSE OF THE BIG PUNCHER'... by Mike Casile/PBRNobody can say for sure where it comes from. Sometimes it is deep within a man. It cannot be seen, or gauged, or in most cases, controlled. It is a phenomenon that propels a fighter to the heights of professional boxing, and dazzles electrified fans every time they see it... What I am speaking of is real punching power.

Shane Mosley is situated, is the return of his father, a familiar face
in Mosley’s corner for most of his career. Vargas, who has
selected Simi Valley, CA for the first time of his career, is reflective
in the solitude of the new location, and feels confident that a win is
but less than a month away.

VARGAS vs MOSLEY JULY 15: THE DAY OF THE AZTEC WARRIOR... by D J CarterCan Vargas pull off a win over Mosley? Unlike some critics, I still have faith in Vargas. He truly does have the heart of a warrior. At first many people questioned why a Vargas v Mosley I was taking place? Both boxers had something to prove. Do I still have it? they may have asked themselves....
