I seem to have
stirred the pot with my article titled “Miguel Cotto will
destroy Manny Pacquiao." I stirred it so much that many of
you wrote responses of your own on our Forum. I’m going to
take this time to address what some of you had to say.
Here we go. Hold
on to your hats, folks, it's a bumpy ride ahead....

There's always this thing called "first time". I'm not an
avid fan of boxing but I will tell you this: Manny Pacquiao
will make history as the only boxer in the world who
conquers seven different weight division, and in style.
(Sic) If you believed that Cotto has what it takes to write
history by demolishing Manny, he must step into the ring
armed to the teeth come Nov. 14,or better be, wear a bullet
proof vest. With all due respect Tony, after the fight,
you'll tell to yourself you're wrong.
My Response:
Make history as
the only boxer in the world who conquers seven different
weight divisions? For starters, this is for Miguel Cotto’s
WBO title and the fight is at a catch weight. If Manny
Pacquiao had signed the contract for both men to weigh 147
lbs. then it would be a legitimate welterweight bout.
HOWEVER, this is a catch weight bout for a make believe WBC
diamond title. When Manny Pacquiao really does fight at
welterweight then I will have no problem with your above
statement.

well.., what can I say? they just said it all. you will eat
all your words when nov. 14 comes. Believe me, Manny
Pacquiao will dodge every single punch Miguel Cotto will
give. And Cotto will take every punches pacman will give and
eventually, give up, like he did to Margocheato. I think you
have a lot more to learn.
Go PACMAN!!!
My Response:
Wow! Some of you
are simply making this too easy for me. When I said that
many of Manny Pacquiao fans are not fans of boxing but only
fans of Manny Pacquiao, I knew I would catch heat for it.
But folks like Slugger just keep on proving me right.
"Pacquiao will dodge every single punch Miguel Cotto will
(sic) give?" "And Cotto will take every punch Pacman will
give??" I think you have a lot more to learn Slugger.
Next!!!

(Sic) SO? what’s
your point addressing your write ups to Filipinos? do you
hate us?
(Sic) manny was
already well known in the Philippines before he went
stateside, so what? so what if were only fans of the pacman, is that bad for the sports of boxing? are we
inferior because we only watch pacman fights? you know how I
see your article? you are not a boxing fan also you are just
pacman fans hater. you don’t want us in boxing because you
think boxing is only for you. why do you mention about
excuses? how many excuses did Pacquiao made when lost? man,
you are just a hater, you’re nothing be thankful we are
wasting our time on you.
My Response:
Whoa! Let’s not
get carried away. I never once said anything about the
Filipino people or anything about hating them. What I did
say is I can not stand the Manny Pacquiao fans who don't know about boxing; all they know is Manny Pacquiao.
I have spoken
with many Filipinos who know their boxing and respect all
fighters, not just Pacman. These Pacquiao fans I speak of
come in an array of shades, from all over the world.

Tony Montgomery
said many people still believed that Marquez won his first
bout with Pacquiao. Well, Montgomery seemed to have been
blinded by his biases. The bout was erroneously decided as a
draw because, as one judge admitted, he erroneously scored
the 1st Round 9 - 10 in favor of Pacquiao, when it should
had been scored 8 - 10 in favor of Pacquiao because of the 3
knockdowns suffered by Marquez in the hands of Pacquiao.
Please check your facts before you write. Montgomery is
disgusting! Crazy!
My
Response:
One judge
admitted he scored the 1st round 10-9 for Pacquiao when it
should have been scored 10-8? You must mean the judge meant
to score the first round 10-6 when he scored it 10-7 due to
the three knockdowns. You better check your facts the next
time around. Bye!!

Montgomery will
apologize after Pacquiao's win
I am seeing two (2) scenarios after Pacquiao's win over
Cotto. Montgomery will write in his blog that he was
mistaken and that Manny is better than Cotto, or Montgomery
will just keep quiet and will not write anything about the
fight for having been embarrassed.
Pre-fight predictions should be more objective and a little
bit subjective. You have to check your sources before
writing and be analytical. If you can't think good enough,
don't write. You'll just embarrass yourself with what you
write. For that, you will be respected even by Pacquiao fans
and not hated.
My
Response:
Sorry people,
I’m not going anywhere anytime soon. If Pacquiao does manage
to win this fight then I’ll admit the better man won.
However, I’m not very worried about eating my own words. And
folks, I have something else to tell you...
It doesn’t even matter who wins the Pacquiao-Cotto fight
because neither one of them is getting past Floyd
Mayweather.

Mr. author.
put your money where your mouth is. I have my money on the
pacman. i will wager with you. any amount, even money. game?
My
Response:
I have won money
with Pacquiao in the past. I bet on him when he fought Marco
Antonio Barrera, Oscar de la Hoya, and Ricky Hatton. And It
look’s like I’ll be making money off Pacman again this time
when I bet on Miguel Cotto.

(Sic) the writer of this page is cotto's cousin! Mind you!
Your mouth is as big as mayweathers mouth! your article is
garbage! I think you should review your article before
posting.. What a waste! Idiot! Get lost! and never show me
your article again.. you are mad!
My Response:
I am not Miguel
Cotto’s cousin, relative, or friend. Never show
me your article again?? I wasn’t aware I had stopped by your
house to drop it off….
I have plenty
more responses to go through and I will get to them in due
time.
One thing many
of you kept saying over and over again is don’t come with
excuses when Cotto loses on November 14th and I
promise you I will not have an excuse because I will not
need one. But I can promise that the same people who say
don’t come with an excuse will be the first ones with an
excuse for Manny Pacquiao. The same people who claim the
size difference will play no part in this fight will be the
first to say that the size difference was the deciding
factor.
I’ll be back.
Bye Bye!
