Israel Vazquez
beat Jhonny Gonzalez by a 10 round TKO on September 16,
2006 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas on the undercard of Barrera
vs Juarez II.
Gonzalez was
down in the 7th and 10th rounds. Gonzalez's corner threw in
the towel after he was down for the second time.
Vazquez
retained his WBC super bantamweight title. Vazquez had been
knocked down twice during the bout but was able to come
back and win the fight whereas Gonzalez was not.
