PACQUIAO - MARQUEZ 2: HOUSE
RULES... by Aladdin Freeman
Juan Manuel threw about 100 less punches and still landed more than Pacquiao. He
had the lead in power punching as well. I went to a comedy club earlier
Saturday night and still for me the biggest joke of the evening was judge Jerry
Roth, who actually had Manny wining the fight by 3 points! Oh well, I guess the house
fighter gets the house rules. This is why people are walking away from boxing
and also why every time a fight goes to the scorecards people just get a gut
wrenching feeling because we all know here comes some bullshit.
MARQUEZ - PACQUIAO FINAL PRESS
CONFERENCE QUOTES
Pacquiao:
"It will be a great fight on Saturday as I
heard Marquez has trained very hard and doesn't want to let his countrymen
down. But I don't either as I need to win this fight for my people as
this is the key to the Filipino unity. Not only for myself but all
the people who love boxing I want them to be satisfied with my performance
and not disappoint them on Saturday. I will do my best to make them
happy.
PACQUIAO-MARQUEZ: LEGACIES ON
THE LINE... by Tom Dickey
This Saturday night will bring Boxing fans one of the most
anticipated fights of the young year... This match-up has
all the things a big fight usually possesses. It has two great
fighters, two of the best in the world. But, it also has a
rivalry fervor to it; a rivalry that has really kicked into gear
over the past few years, and that's the rivalry between Mexican
and Filipino fans. This contention really got started with the
emergence of Manny Pacquiao, and it should hit a fever pitch once
again this Saturday night. One thing's for sure, on Saturday
night legacies will be on the line for both Manny Pacquiao and
Juan Manuel Marquez.
JUAN MANUEL MARQUEZ - UP CLOSE
AND PERSONAL
Q: How do your parents feel
about both of you being fighters? Is there any sibling
rivalry?
My parents are very happy
that we have both been able to become world champions.
They're proud that we've both gotten to where we are today
because of hard work and dedication, because that is a
testament to the values they instilled in us. There is no
rivalry between us. I actually think we drive each other to
greatness and encourage each other to do the best we can."
