Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (24-0-1, 18 KO's) was greeted to a smattering of boos as his six-round majority decision victory was read to the crowd at the Aladdin Performing Arts Theater.
Chavez Jr. was unimpressive in his rematch against Carlos Molina (8-2-1, 4 KO's) whom he battled to a draw late last year. In a very close fight, Chavez Jr. and Molina fought the majority of the bout in close quarters and traded shots on the inside in the center of the ring.
Molina was the busier fighter and Chavez Jr. seemed to land the harder shots throughout. The scores were 57-57, 58-56 and 58-56. 2-18-2006
