Pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather (36-0, 24 KO’s) passed the biggest test of his career when he out pointed IBF Welterweight Champion Zab “Super” Judah (34-4) and won a unanimous decision, scores were 119-109, 117-113 and 116-112.

It looked as though an upset may be in store when Judah started off very effectively, winning the first two rounds in the eyes of most at ringside. It appeared as though Judah knocked Mayweather down in the 2nd round when Floyd’s glove touched the canvas; however, referee Richard Steele ruled it a slip.

By the 3rd Round it seemed that Mayweather was beginning to solve the south-paw style of Judah, becoming more aggressive and beginning to land more effectively. Mayweather swept the middle rounds and Judah appeared tired and was bloodied by the 7th Round.

Drama ensued when, with about :10 left in the 10th Round, Judah hit Mayweather with a particularly flagrant low blow and followed it with a right hand to the back of Mayweather’s head. Referee Steele called time to give Mayweather a rest period and that is when Mayweather’s uncle and trainer Roger climbed into the ring, approached Judah and apparently tried to choke him; within a matter of seconds, Judah’s father and trainer Yoel was also in the ring and an all out melee ensued.

After the ring was cleared and Roger Mayweather ejected from the fight, and since suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission indefinitely, the fight was allowed to continue; Roger’s assistant Leonard Ellerbe was left in charge of the Mayweather corner for the duration of the fight.

In the final two rounds it appeared Mayweather already knew the fight was out of reach for Judah as he cruised through the last two rounds on his way to the victory.

In the post fight press conference, neither fighter was very descriptive about future plans but a rematch was never mentioned.
