THUNDER AND LIGHTENING

Ladies and gentlemen it's that time again. Time to embark on another action packed thriller. As "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather and Arturo "Thunder" Gatti clash in what could be the most explosive fight of the year. Just months shy of the classic, blood fest between Jose Castillo and Diego "Chico" Corrales, we're only mere hours shy of what may easily become the event of the summer.

On one side of the ring, there's strong willed and ever powerful, two division world champion, Arturo "Thunder" Gatti, and on the other side of the spectrum, there's the very skilled and flamboyant, "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather, who's also a two division world champ.

After spending years at the top of their divisions, the time has finally come for these two young gladiators to square off against one another.

A lack of experience is definitely not a factor, as Arturo Gatti has been in the ring with some of the sport’s most talented athletes. From Tracy Harris Patterson, to Gabriel Ruelas and the classic rubber match with Micky Ward; Arturo Gatti has traded leather with the best of them. Earning two world championships in two different weight divisions is no easy feat. In order for Arturo to maintain his winning streak and world champion status, he'll have to get by another power house in Floyd Mayweather Jr.

For Gatti, the key to victory is to use a consistent and stiff jab to keep his opponent at bay. In addition, Arturo must use his legs, as Floyd Mayweather can very easily be the fattest opponent Gatti has ever faced. If you're Arturo, you don’t want to be a still target, as Mayweather is a very effective counter puncher. Gatti should use a stiff and steady jab, not neglect Mayweather’s body and move. DO NOT BECOME A SITTING DUCK. When the opportunity presents itself, Gatti should drive Mayweather to ropes, behind the jab and work the body. This will slow Mayweather down and take some steam from his punches. Keep Mayweather on the ropes, work the body, and if the opportunity presents itself, come over the top with hooks and rights to the head of Mayweather. STAY BUSY.

Mayweather has his eyes set on the bigger fights and paydays, as he's easily one of the games top 3 fighters, pound for pound. Speed and accuracy are Mayweather's strengths, and the fact that he's always in tip top shape for a match up. Mayweather should keep Gatti on the outside, by using a nice stinging jab and lateral movement. Mayweather should move at angles, this way he's not backing up, however he is exposing Gatti to more counters. Lateral movement should also be key for Mayweather, don’t be a still target, and when the time is right, unleash fast and sharp combinations to the head and body of his opponent.

Since Gatti is subject to cuts and swelling, Mayweather’s punches need to be sharp and crisp, potentially opening a cut on Gatti’s face. When Mayweather sees blood, his animal instinct takes over, and he goes for the kill, he is one of the best finishers in the game today. With victories over former world champions like Genaro Hernandez, Angel Manfredy, Diego Corrales, and Jose Castillo, Mayweather has also traded leather with some of today’s top athletes.

Look for an action packed fight from these two young gladiators today. Will this fight go twelve rounds? That's hard to determine. However, I guarantee that the viewers will be satisfied after viewing this show down between Power and Glory, Arturo Gatti and Floyd Mayweather Jr.
