'BUBBA' JOHNSON RETURNS TO RING ACTION JULY 18 |

Canadian heavyweight contender Kirk Johnson (34-2-1, 25 KOs) returns to ring
action on July 18 against Mexican southpaw Gilbert Martinez (18-7-2, 7 KOs) in a
ten round bout promoted by Goossen Tutor and hosted by the Pechanga Resort in
Temecula, California.
Johnson's bout will take place underneath the IBF middleweight title eliminator between Sam Soliman and Raymond Joval, an event that will be tape delayed by Fox Sports Network and will air as follows:

Johnson lost to Vitali Klitschko in December of 2003 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The Canadian was down twice in the second round of his last outing, prompting a
halt to the proceedings 2:54 into the assault.
