DAVID HAYE RELINQUISHES WBC CRUISERWEIGHT WORLD TITLE...
David Haye, the undefeated sensation of the cruiserweight division, has
communicated to the WBC his plans for his future in boxing in a beautiful letter
written to the WBC President Jose Sulaiman.
David Haye has relinquished his WBC cruiserweight championship and is requesting
the WBC to rate him in the heavyweight division, hoping that his second dream,
to win the WBC green and gold heavyweight championship, becomes true in the near
future.
HAS DAVID HAYE ARRIVED? OR HAS HIS MOUTH DECLARED HIS ARRIVAL?...

On current form David can't be faulted, but Enzo Maccarinelli isn't top ten
heavyweight substance, and neither is Bonin but I save my judgment for a
bigger day. I detect a lot of Audley Harrison in Haye; it could be the
braids, it could be the shades, it could even be -dare I say it- the mouth.
Whatever it is, I hope his delivery is constructed from sterner stuff than
Harrison's who is labeled in many circles as damaged goods, constantly
mounting comebacks.
Haye is a promoter's dream and for that I wish him well. Balls
of steel are required when facing proven heavyweights with the
dimensions of a Klitschko when you are a natural cruiserweight
and if he is prepared to put them on the line he has my respect.
DAVID 'THE HAYMAKER' HAYE HITS VEGAS...
This past weekend I ventured to Las Vegas to take my ringside seat for Joe Calzaghe's world
light-heavyweight title win over Bernard Hopkins.
It was my first experience of a big Las Vegas fight and I urge anyone and everyone to catch a fight out there if you can. The
buzz around the place in the days leading up to the fight was like something
I've never seen or experienced before.
Although we're able to produce great atmospheres on fight night here in the UK I think the Vegas fight experience is unbeatable in terms of the complete
package. It's not just about the fight over there. It's more of an experience that spreads across two or three days, maybe even a week in some cases. The
build-up was just as exciting as the eventual fight – perhaps more so in this case.
DAVID HAYE TO WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO: 'THE HAYMAKER' IS COMING FOR YOU!
In a stagnant division, with
little star appeal and even less quality, Klitschko versus
Haye could be the battle between champions that harkens back
to a time when the heavyweight championship was once viewed as
the greatest prize in sports. If there's one heavyweight fight
out there that can save heavyweight boxing, it's Klitschko –
the best heavyweight on the planet – against Haye – the best
cruiserweight on the planet.
"The British public needs to
make this fight happen," concluded Haye. "Okay, it's not going
to happen this year – he's got two mandatory challengers lined
up – but summer next year, let's make this fight happen. It's
the biggest fight since Lewis against Tyson and it has to
happen."
