SPARE THE (TITO) TAPS - IT AIN'T OVER 'TIL IT'S OVER

I didn't see last nite's one sided Wright decision win over Trinidad, I have long refused them offers we're told we cannot pass on - but that's a story for another day.

Yes, my choice was Trinidad, had even gone the Tito early or late route - not because of his return to action destruction of Mayorga that was pretty much preordained - but rather, the way he had got off them explosive combinations.

And then came Winky ... and with most precincts reporting, it was unanimous that the scoring was accurate in favor of Wright - it was also in complete agreement that the critical weapon of choice was the Winky jab from the southpaw stance.

Ok, I'll buy that as well ... but not because I'm getting it from points north, south, east, west but rather having "heard" it from Trinidad quotes, that he was troubled over the problem of solving the disciplined southpaw with the stinging right jab.

On that note, I have come to the conclusion this one played out to; A) Wright sticking to the game plan of jab and defense. B) Trinidad getting caught up early in a uncharacteristic mind game.

But spare the taps ... Trinidad is alive and well. And as good old Yogi of Yankee beizbol fame liked to shout it "It ain't over 'til it's over."

The body is still fresh at age 32, and can continue on until the signs can no longer be ignored. Key is in the opponent selections.

And Winky you ask? Style will always factor into the matchmaking ... for Wright the best move dollar wise is a Hopkins challenge - but Bernard must first get by a winnable in Taylor.

Then, for Wright, what better way to go out on than a Hopkins mega-bucker?
