"HOYA-SHANE AND ANOTHER BOO"

By George J. Elsasser

Hadn't seen the fite over PPV ... but after hearing all the fallout decided to watch the replay prior to last noche's Byrd early Christmas gift win over Oquendo ... I'll be brief.

For openers, I wasn't all that interested in a second time arounder with these guys ... Hoya- Forrest maybe, Hoya-Mayorga or maybe the more deserving Winky with Hoya ... and after watching the tape, I knew I made good decision in not buying any of the "Revenge"guy vs the "Unhappy over the $$$$" guy.

I mean, gimme a break ... a battle of counter punchers is what we get ... and Hoya in the role of one-armed paper hanger no less ... better yet he actually wins the %^$# thing on my sheet.

Still, beauty in eyes of beholder does count with all viewers ... officials and fans alike, so nobody has a valid beef ... other than those that were bitten by the PPV sharks.

So this scribble will not be void of personal controversy, I give you this (from the heart):

Any mention of a Mosley on same page as a Ray Robinson qualifies as blasphemy ... and any comparisons to a Ray Leonard would be insulting at best - as for De La Hoya, I do not see anything today, that I may have missed in the past, that places him special in the boxing skills department.
