The Friday Telefutura Boxeo card highlighted veteran middleweight of past top ten recognition Bronco "Superman" McKart  in with Enrique Ornelas - the prize up for grabs the NABF minor league strap - when the smoke cleared after 12 serious rounds it was McKart via split decision.

Opens with McKart from the southpaw advantage having the edge in a feeling out start - things would change following a third round that saw Ornelas down courtesy a "Superman" - and isn’t that sobriquet a stretch - right hook at close quarters.

McKart continues with the dictating through round four - then numero cinco and Ornelas comes alive with serious flurries - and the story line down to the finish was a coin flipper tough call for the judges at ringside.

Scoring would then go McKart 114-113-114-113-113-114 - my unofficial saw it McKart with the advantage of a 10-8 stanza three off the knockdown.

Post Scripts: Bronco "Superman" McKart ( 51-7, 31 KO) ~ age 36 - neither today,  yesterday, tomorrow, never a Superman - nor Batman, Spiderman for that matter - more a tough man with some skills aided by the portside stance. Now running out the clock with the NABF trinket a negotiation tool. If of sound mind, he and the brain trust would be wise to close the final chapter at that level.
Enrique Ornelas (25-4, 15 KO) ~ age 26 - slow start in this one cost the transplanted Mexican from left coast California - gave "Superman" too much early respect. When getting into the fray he made it a close one - on this first peek, pretty much see the kid a career club fighter in overall talent.
Referee Steve Smoger ~ good job in letting the fighters bask in the spotlight of the TV cameras - unlike too many today hacks competing for attention as if one of the actors.
