From start to finis, it was all Ishe Smith in a battle of unbeatens with a game but out-gunned David Estrada over ten rounds of fistic action.
Ishe used a tough, but slow moving Estrada, to showcase an entire trick bag of pugilistic goodies ... from stanza one to the final bell the outcome was never in doubt ... this Ishe kid works like a veteran ... only missing item is in the big power department.
Estrada did his best ... kept the pressure on ... but Smith picked him apart with every punch in the text book ... best of the power shots is the left-hook to the body ... but the jab is there and the big eye-catcher is an ability to relax while getting the job done.
Woulda, coulda, shoulda been a total blanking but for a point deduction for low blow in round six ... a left hook that touched home below the DMZ ... still, referee Frank Garza clearly dropped the ball with the call.
Was first low blow ... Estrada displayed zero distress ... still, Garza quickly goes the dramatic route ... and after the emphatic point deduction theatrics, the guy offers Estrada half the evening to recover from I have no clue what.
Better yet ... or worse ever is in seeing a scanning camera showing Estrada standing for what seemed an eternity in his corner ... Garza ditto, while in neutral corner ... and Ishe baby you ask? How about sitting with folded legs and arms in his own corner ... and you ask what is wrong with today's game.
Bout was held at Indian reservation Casino up at Sault Saint Marie at Canadian border ... surprise here is that Ishe hadn't asked for ceremonious peace pipe during the ongoing delay.
Comments: With Smith still a novice in outings, goes to 13-0 and 8 stops (Estrada drops to 15-1, 7 KO’s) feelings here is there could be a tendency to rush him to title contention. Problem is whether he is ready for the Mayorga, Forrest, Margarito, Spinks gang ... think a Teddy Reid pairing would provide some answers ... is talking Cintron and guess here is that would be just perfect thank you.
