"MEA CULPA, MEA CULPA, MEA MAXIMA CULPA"

By George J. Elsasser

My heart goes out to the "Real Deal" Holyfield ... only answer I have is he simply went to the well once too often - to be dropped and stopped by body punch in 9th stanza speaks volumes.

Was sure as death and taxes ... unlike the tricky southpaw Byrd ... the styles in this Toney fite had Holyfield gimme written all over it - and a mea culpa to that error in judgement.

And how about Casamayor busting up Corrales in six stanzas ... gimme a break ... agreed, Casa baby is a polished pro ... but have never seen him as a slickster ... nor especially quick ... so my pick was Corrales on size, reach, and assumed advantage in power department.

Wrong again ... maybe my Corrales choice was a matter of looking for vitals in all the wrong places - or something - so, along with the first mea culpa, I now offer up a second with a maxima tag attached.

Good news: Casamayor and Toney will now be seen as reborn - Bad news: will also be available while carrying a PPV price tag.

Semper fi,
