The ESPN2 Wednesday club fight tour visited West Palm Beach, Florida for a  welterweight affair pairing Kermit Cintron and David Estrada in a scheduled twelve rounder - up for grabs an inconspicuous IBF positional strap.

Still, for the paying clientele and those watching over the magic lantern, it was touch and go over nine action packed candles before a sudden finish early in stanza ten with Cintron pitching and Estrada catching.

Estrada showed the expected early aggressiveness, coupled with a busy work ethic, and handled the Cintron incoming with flurrying counters - and it wouldn’t be until the later stanzas that desperation began showing.

A hint of what lie ahead was a stanza six Cintron counter right hand that had Estrada in trouble - and the feeling was the lighter punching Estrada with the brawling style would eventually become road kill.

Then number ten and early in the round a big right hand has Estrada in trouble and Cintron quickly jumping on the prey with a barrage of power punches - Estrada, trapped on the ropes and sagging, when referee James Warring wisely called the halt at 1:13 mark of the round.

Cintron goes to 26-1 with 24 by KO, while Estrada drops to 18-3, 9 knockouts.

Post Scripts: Kermit Cintron ~ Has good size at 5-11 and young at age 26 - the power is visible from both sides. Showed strong straight right hand, right uppercut, and left hooks. Must be noted his opponent, while brave and willing, lacks clout. Word is last nite’s win places Kermit at #2 slot among the IBF membership. Good intentions perhaps … advice here is beware the ides of Antonio Margarito. Jury still sequestered.
David Estrada ~ with due respect  for the clear and obvious, the kid will always give the proverbial 100% - tough job when mixing with the upper clientele and limited to guts, condition, while cheated at birth with punching power. Born for the ESPN-ShoBox club scene.

Referee James Warring - a George Foreman look-a-like in face and size - also a refreshing change from the norm - showed perfect timing when calmly stepping in for the no-mas call without an ounce of dramatics.
