November 16, Magdeburg, Germany:
German veteran Timo "the Body" Hoffmann came in at 117.5 kilos/259 lbs. for tomorrow's showdown in Magdeburg against WBO I/C champ Aleksander Dimitrenko, somewhat smaller at 115 kilos/253.5 lbs. It was a friendly weigh in without even a stare down.

Grigorz Drozd and Laudelino Jose Barros both came in at 89.5 kilos/197.25 lbs. for their WBO A-P title fight.

Russian giant Evgeny Orlov, one of Ruslan Chagaev´s best sparring partners before facing Nikolai Valuev, scaled 138 kgs./ 304.25 lbs. Daniel Peret, just in from St. Petersburg where he had worked the corner for some fighters, weighed 107.5 kilos/237 lbs. The difference in size didn't bother at all and the two know each other well since their amateur days - but the lost luggage did. Daniel plans to fight December 1 in Sweden and December 23 in St Petersburg - if all goes well tomorrow that is.

"He will move up," said a Universum spokesman referring to WBO, WBA and WBC super middleweight champ Joe Calzaghe. With the WBO this would then mean a title fight for Jurgen Brahmer, who's number one with ex-WBA and WBC king Mikkel Kessler at number two. Canadian Jean Pascal is in the third spot.

It's official: IBF cruiser champ Steve Cunningham face Marco Huck December 29 in Bielefeld.
