Karagoz in the headliner of P3 Boxing's show tonight
(October 22) in Helsinki. Russian junior welter Dennis
Shafikov stopped Frenchman Nizar Boubaker in the
second round while Juho Tolppola and Aleksander Saltykov
fought to a technical draw.
Randy Griffin, (24-1-3, 12 KOs), seemed to be do
everything right Saturday night against WBA
middleweight champion Felix Sturm, (28-2-1, 12 KOs). He was
aggressive,
worked the full three minutes of every round and landed
with effective punches in most of the rounds. Fair
enough, he had problems with Sturm's tight defense,
walked into a fair share of sharp counters but all in
all looked like a winner at the end but got a
controversial draw.
WBO junior middleweight
champion Sergey Dzinziruk defends his title November 30 in Karlsruhe
on Regina Halmich's farewell show. No opponent is
announced but it is rumored to be Czech Lukas Konecny.
Giorgio Marinelli, (17-1-1, 9 KOs) and Peter Semo,
(16-0, 11 K0s), a
Ugandan based in Sweden, will clash for the vacant WBA
Intercontinental junior welterweight title November 24 in Rome
in a show promoted by
the Buccione Boxing Team. (Side note: this bout
is subject to commission approval or change).
Undefeated French junior welterweight
prospect Ali Chebah will fight Mexican Efren Guerrero on
the undercard to Haye vs Mormeck November 10.
Paddy Fitzpatrick, in Europe
trainer for the Elite Box Team in Berlin, has now
opened his gym in Swindon, UK. Fitzpatrick manages
Swedish welter Vatche Wartanian as well.

clash for the Spanish junior lightweight title November 16
in Hospitalet de Llobregat.
Czech Max 1 Promotions is promoting a show
billed as the "Night of the Heroes" October 27 in
Prague. Super middleweight Tomas Adamek (not to be confused
with the Polish Adamek) will take on Frenchman Kamel
Belhachemi, junior middleweight Patrik Hruska, a decent fighter
despite his record, is in against Ghanian Osumana Adama
and Ukrainian Yuri Voronin fights the ever dangerous
TBA in the main bouts.
Team Palle will bring cruiserweight Anders
Hugger and middleweight Thomas Povlsen with them to
Cardiff November 3 for the undercard to Kessler vs
Calzaghe.
