On Tuesday, May 25, 2004, Miami boxing promoter Richard Dobal is staging a boxing match billed as "A Night of Future Champions" at the Radisson Mart Plaza Hotel,
711 NW 72 Ave., in Miami.  There will be six bouts beginning at 8:00 PM in the Royal Poinciana Ballroom.  The show features "Future Champions" David Estrada and Alex Brenes, trainees of the famed Angelo Dundee who trained Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, and Sugar Ray Leonard.

Promoter Richard Dobal is no stranger to the game, he has an extensive twenty-year background in boxing from amateur boxer to trainer, agent, manager, and now promoter. Along the way he has worked with such boxing greats as Angelo Dundee, the great champion Roberto Duran, Jamaican promoter Lucien Chen, and former boxer Ramiro Ortiz, now president of Bank United.

The impetus for this boxing event/ fundraiser is to honor the memory of Richard's father, Armando Dobal, an exile form Cuba, who died four years ago.  Armando Dobal suffered with Parkinson disease for twenty-five years, after reading that a cure for Parkinson disease could be found if there were one billion dollars available for research, Richard made a promise to his dying father to raise money to defeat the illness.

Tickets for this event are priced as follows: $20 (General Admission), $50 (Ringside), $100 (Front row & VIP party).  All ticket proceeds are being donated for research to the Miami-based National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., the largest Parkinson foundation in the world.  Its mission is to advance research leading to a cure for Parkinson disease and to promote educational programs and support systems for Parkinsonians and their caregivers.

For tickets and further information please call 305-389-5035 or 305-607-2BOX.  Tickets may also be purchased at both South Florida Boxing Gym locations: South Beach location, 715 Washington Ave.,  Miami Beach, FL 33139, (305) 672-8262 and Pembroke Pines, Pembroke Pines Ice Arena,  (2nd floor), 12425 Taft St., Pembroke Pines, FL 33028, (954) 436-6656.
