APRIL 8TH PPV HAS A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR EVERYBODY...

Some criticism has been  expressed regarding the April 8th Zab Judah-Floyd Mayweather pay per view card; and most of the criticism has been aimed at the main event. Some are saying, and rightfully so, that this shouldn't be considered a title fight, while others are saying that it has lost its intrigue because of Judah's recent upset loss at the hands of Carlos 'Tata' Baldomir. Though these points of contention are true to a point, one thing can't be denied when looking over the whole card, and that is the fact that  this card offers everything boxing fans would like to see.

For the avid boxing fan, who likes to see the technical aspect of the sport, then the main event should provide this. Mayweather and Judah -when at their best- can be very  technically sound. If they are near the top of their game, this should be a good technical boxing match. It also has the capabilities of big punching, as both men have had their fair share of KOs.

For the fan who likes grudge matches, then the Travieso Arce-Rosendo Alvarez bout should provide them with plenty of hateful drama. Arce and Alvarez have expressed their hatred for one another, and have stated they would like nothing more than to knock the other out. The war of words between these two veterans will finally come to a head on the 8th. In Arce's last fight which was took place in Mexico, he fought -and beat for a second time- Adonis Rivas, who is trained by Alvarez. At the end of the fight, Arce and his corner got into a fight with Alvarez, which only stirs the pot thicker.

Bad intentions and bad feelings have been the only feelings expressed by the two since, and this is not the typical behavior of fighters in the smaller weight classes. Who would have thought that Alvarez-Arce would garner more trash talk than trash talking champions themselves Mayweather and Judah? So, for those wanting to see a hardened grudge match, Top Rank's April 8th PPV will definitely provide it.

For the die-hard boxing fans, Juan Diaz will return to the ring on the 8th. He will defend his lightweight belt against Jose Miguel Cotto, who has been on the rise of late. Diaz has had his last few bouts postponed due to injuries. The die-hards will finally get to see Diaz back in the ring.

For the boxing fans who want to see prospects, this PPV card will provide it with a scheduled  Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs Rodrigo Juarez.

Another great thing about this pay per view is that it has no scheduling conflict, going away from a disturbing trend we have been seeing more of recently.

While the main event on April 8th may have its flaws, the event as a whole is certainly solid and intriguing. One thing is for sure, this card offers a little something for every kind of boxing fan.
