Thompson Boxing promotions will present a five
bout card from the Omega Products International on
Friday night. The main event of the "Path to Glory"
card will feature Lightweights Miguel Angel Huerta
against Marco Angel Perez for the vacant WBO
Intercontinental Lightweight title. The bout will be a
12 round fight with two fighters on the rise, and
riding winning streaks.
Miguel Angel Huerta comes into Friday night's
card with a record of 20-6-1 with 13KOs. He has been
in the ring with the likes of Julio Diaz, Victoriano
Sosa, Allan Vester, and Rolando Reyes. Huerta is
riding a hot streak, as he comes into this fight
having won his last three fights in a row. In his last
two fights Huerta has dispatched of former contender
Allan Vester, and upset highly regarded Rolando
Reyes. Huerta of Mexico City, is on a roll and hopes it
will continue on Friday.
Marco Angel Perez is also riding a hot streak. He
also has won his last three fights in a row. Perez is
the current California State Lightweight champion, and
hopes to add some more hardware on Friday. Perez comes
into Friday's bout with a record of 20-5 with 14KOs.
His big win came earlier this year when he upset
former contender Yoni Vargas. Perez has good power, but
showed he could win a decision also when he beat
Gustavo Tapia by unanimous decision in July. The fight
will headline the "Path to Glory" card and will be a
twelve round affair.
The semi-main event will feature Super
Featherweight prospect Ulises Pena taking on Juan
Carlos Martinez. Pena of Pacoima, California has been
on a roll, winning his last six fights in a row. Pena
comes into the fight with a 10-4 record with 3 KOs.
Pena will battle Juan Carlos Martinez of Los Angeles.
Martinez is a late addition, and comes in with a 11-22
record. Martinez has fought some tough guys like Jose
Lopez, Mike Anchondo, and Steve Luevano. The fight will
be an eight round super featherweight bout.
There will be three other bouts on the Thompson
"Path to Glory" card. Eduardo Martinez of Riverside,
California will battle Francisco Javier Garcia of
Corona, California in a four round junior welterweight
bout. Martinez comes in with a record of 5-1 with 1KO,
while Garcia enters battle with a 4-3-1 record. Erivan
Conceincao of Brazil will make his pro debut against
Mauricio Grajeda of Calexico, California in a four
round super welterweight match-up. The final bout of
the card will pit two fighters making their pro
debuts. Joshia Gonzales of Ventura, California will
battle Ian Queen of San Diego, California. Queen
enters this bout with a deep martial arts background,
and we will see if this helps him in the boxing ring.

17th from the Omega Products International in Corona,
