Three more U.S. Olympic Boxers advanced into the next round. On Tuesday, Flyweight Ron Siler kept the U.S. win streak going by out pointing Australia's Bradley Hare 32-18. Siler of Cincinnati, advances to the round of 16, where he will face Doniyorov Tulashboy of Uzbekistan on Saturday, August 21.

On Wednesday, the first and only American to lose his opening match was Light Flyweight, Rau'shee Warren of Cincinnati, (Ohio). Warren lost to China's Shiming Zou, 22-9. Warren is only 17 years old, and hopes this experience can help him for 2008.

The American Heavyweights were successful on Wednesday. First, Heavyweight Devin Vargas of Toledo, Ohio forced a referee stoppage in his bout with Rachid
El Haddak of Marakesh. In International rules, a referee can stop the fight if the scoring is one sided going into the final round. Vargas advances to the Heavyweight quarterfinals. Vargas will face Vikter Zvyev of Belarus on Sunday in the Heavyweight Quarterfinals.

Super Heavyweight Jason Estrada of Providence, Rhode Island also won his first match on Wednesday. Estrada outpointed Ma'afu Hawke of Tonga 30-11.
Estrada advances to the Super Heavyweight quarterfinals, where he will face Michel Lopez Nunez of Cuba on Monday for a spot in the semifinals.

On Thursday, Welterweights, Light Welterweights, and Light Heavyweights will begin round of 16 bouts. Three American boxers will be trying to move on to the
quarterfinals. Welterweight underdog Vanes Martirosyan of Glendale, California, will try to knock off Cuban Lorenzo Aragon Armenteros.

Light Welterweight Rock Allen of Philadelphia, will face Boris Georgiev of Bulgaria. This will be Allen's first bout, since he got a bye in the first round. Allen hopes to advance to the quarterfinals.

Light Heavyweight Andre Ward of Oakland, (California), will face off with Clemento Russo of Italy. This is the first bout for both fighters as they both got byes in the
first round.

On Friday, the round of 16 starts up for Featherweights, Lightweights, and Bantamweights. Vicente Escobedo will be in action in the Lightweight division. The Americans are off to a 6-1 start, not bad for a team that was not getting much respect going into the Olympics. The U.S. hopes to keep the momentum going into the next round as competition gets tougher.
